Hmmm, now I'm thinking maybe I should use mne as a worm bin rather than tossing it. It'd do fine in the greenhouse :D
I think I saw a thread on BYC detailing exactly how to do it... I'm not looking forward to going over there to find it, but I guess I should...
If ya do drag it back over here with ya :D I'd like to see it again, but I'll let you do the hard work

The mention of Mesquite got me curious... I found this article from our local paper, if you're curious...

That's pretty interesting. I dunno that I believe it's all it's cracked up to be, but if that's what makes them happy......

Can ya tell I'm not the typical "tree hugger" type? :P

I doubt it would make such an enormous impact as they want everyone to think it will if they were all cut down. Maybe some impact, but really just sounds overly dramatized to me.

Soooo maybe if ya lived in Texas you'd have a shot

It depends. There are what's called keystone species. These species of plants and/or animals is basically what makes a habitat what it is. You remove them, and you change everything about the area.

Some of these desert folks are pretty intense in their protect and preserve views. There is always a debate going on about off-road vehicles destroying habitat, etc. yada yada yada! As long as they stay off my property and are reasonably responsible, I couldn't care less.

What's weird is I've been to this protected area several times and haven't seen even one mesquite tree! :hu

So are ya getting mealworms Cheerio? I think I will. :D

I think so! It will have to wait 'til next payday, but I think it's a great idea. And if they don't turn out to be the moneymaker I'm hoping for, I'll have some very happy chickens!!
