How interesting! What is the significance of each of the colors? Do the weddings use the same colors, or more vibrant ones?

Thanks Northed!! They are actually pretty easy to make. Do you bake bread? I just use my favorite bread dough and add a bit more sugar. But there are a million recipes out there! I'm going to try this recipe the next time!
Never actually baked bread myself. I'm scared to try after what happened the last time I tried to make a sponge cake. Anything of mine that goes in the oven and is meant to come out "soft and light"...

Practice makes perfect!! My first loaf of bread was pretty ugly, but it tasted great! I was kinda uptight and a bit anal when I first started baking; following every recipe to the T, making sure my measurements were exact, etc. But then Wannabefree gave me some advice... "Relax!" she said. "Baking is s'posed to be fun!" :thumbsup And it is!!
OK, I'll try to take that advice. :gig

I do sort of bake biscuits in a very lax manner though, I gave up using spoons or balances ages ago, and pretty much just poured the flour, sugar and milk out of their tins and bottles in a haphazard fashion.
Will have to give bread another shot some time.

No real significance to the colors other than that white is traditionally worn to church on Sunday and black is for the actual burial service on Monday and all of the traditional presentations that are made to the family of the deceased. There is a lot of food and all the unmarried girls will be serving, cleaning up and pretty much anything else that needs done. There are no specific outfits that are worn for weddings, but a Samoan wedding is one huge party!

Well Saturday was quite a day! Very cold, cloudy and windy with intermittent rain showers and even SNOW!

I know... :P  very light flurries that lasted about 10 mins and pretty much melted as they landed, but it's still snow!

Sunday was still windy and cool, but no rain. So the majority of the weekend was spent watching movies and baking, just as predicted.
Fresh Bread and peanut butter cookies. :drool

Got seeds sprouting... cucs, peas, tomatoes and eggplant. Still waiting for the bell pepper...

And the "Old Man" next door found a bunch of chicken wire, welded wire and some gardening stuff in the garage of his friend's house and brought it over. Some really cool adjustable tomato cage/trellises that will work great!

The mealworms arrived on Saturday. I ordered 1000, but there was a note written on the receipt that she had packed 1500+ with a lot of little ones. BONUS!! Still working out a "farming" setup. For now they are fine in the container they came in. My girls LOVE them!! I can't wait to see if it's gonna make a difference!!

It looks like the rest of the week is going to be sunny and warm, so I'm hoping we can get the rest of the work done on the chicken yard. I'll keep you posted!

SNOW?!! That is so crazy! On Saturday, I was camped outside, in shorts, soaking up a rare bit of solar, with temps in the balmy 70's (and let me tell ya, with my pale chicken legs, it wasn't pretty! :lau )

correction: too many shorts

Ya sure that's snow and not dandruff? :hide

When J called me to the window saying it was snowing, I thought he had lost his mind! :ep I thought for sure it was hail, but sure enough, it was snow. Pretty rare occurrence here.

Snow?!!! Gives you something to dream about this summer! Your plants look great!!! I want to do some! So hard being patient! Bell peppers must take longer, huh?
