FB ordered some thorn-less black berries, arapaho & ouachita. They are soaking in water to plant tomorrow. It's OK though I have a black berry thicket on the bank behind the pond, they are thorned and wild. My daughter in law and I pick them, FB makes jelly and jam out them. But we can't ever pick them all because, you can't get to them all.

The wild ones vary from one season to the next. I think it has to do with the amount of rainfall. Seems like the more rain the bigger and tastier berries. But I'm sure a lot of it has to do with the amount of sunlight and heat also. Three seasons ago was great, last year not so much. This year might be good because it's been very wet.

I sometimes miss raspberries, when we lived up north they grew wild just like blackberries do here in the south. I remember picking them off the sides of rails to trails and making cobbler out of them, so good
I don't think we have long enough deep cold for raspberries grow well here. I should investigate some of the newer raspberry varieties.

Won't be daylight for a while, DST, but like the extra light late day. Mainly because of job, otherwise it wouldn't matter either way. And 5 long days this week, then fewer job hours - good!! I'm wanting to give gardening some serious time. It's that time of year -- planting time
