Goodnight from the swamps of southern IL. I moved some projects into the barn so tank and I can stay dry while we work. Although tank would prefer puddlin, mud puddlin that is.

@CrealCritter no in garden here yet -- too wet, then job days, then sick tractor, more rain...tough spring!!
But your orchards are doing well 👍👍👍🥰

Wakening but taking my time today. Decided I'd relax a little and still get things done. Had 4 long, tough days at work, so slower pace today. Gonna run a couple errands this morn, need a couple things from TSC, couple at WM & they're across street from one another. Prob Lowes, only a block away. Yeah, get all that out of the way so weekend things can happen without stopping to travel🙂 gotta do something with milk, too. Eggs are piling up again....ain't farm life fun :lol: I need more home time.

@The Porch That's a lot of work!
It is, we will get it done though. I will work right along side of him, and get my stuff done in between. When we are dont with ours, my son has been trying for two years to get his done but with work and 7 kids he just cant get it. I told him, when we are don, WE ARE! ... getting your shed don with or with out you,, so stand by.
Then comes the cutting fire wood for winter.

Slept late this morning. With all the rain Ive had lately, I get bored being inside. Oh sure, I have things to do inside, but I have a major case of the DON'TS, As in I don't want to. It's very wet and soggy outside, Foggy too, the sun is up, trying bravely to shine through, but looks like a flashlight with almost dead batteries.

I am up,, Coffee pot just beeped, I just heard a chick up. 3 chicks slept on the root at the very far eds against the wall, away from the hens and the rest slept in a nesting box.

I got up cuz my lower back said so, and the blood was cut off from my legs. Our mattress is an original Temperpedic with a Temperpedic memory foam topper. DH likes the softer bed and I dont. We do have a mattress we bought back in 2018 that is firmer, and sets higher, but LY with all the health issues he couldn't get in and out of it so I switched the beds around. I am going to have to start sleeping in the other room.

Its 46 out, Mostly cloudy my get to 67 today.
I MUST get to the lavender be #1 first,,,, then get all the mowing,,,, then laundry,,,,, and house work so on Saturday I am ready to help get the posts set up for the wood shed.
this style, just 5 bays- no floor up against the conx container-- 8 foot in the back, 7 foot in the front west end enclosed cuz the rain blows on that side. The back is up against the storage container front facing North. nothing fancy, just simple and easy.

It is 10 years old. I think if I start paying to get it fixed, I’d have a pretty good down payment on a new one. I got a new dryer last year. Electronics, the fancy digital stuff, even the simplest , just doesn’t last long. Give old fashioned KNOBS!
Find a store, area that caters to mennonites and some of the more "modern amish".... they do not like or have all the electronic stuff...
If I ever have to buy a gas stove again, it will come from PA where there are alot of amish and mennonites... NO electronic ignition on the stoves... no needing electricity so it will work in power outages etc... They also carry the older KNOB type washers etc. I will not buy new electronic ones. All the fancy crap. NO and NOPE.
Try estate sales... and 10 years is not old for a washer... mine is from my mom's house...30 yrs+..... has a water leak so have to have DS look at it... not alot but enough to keep a towel in front of it when washing a load... could just be a leak in the hose somewhere... but I am not going to buy a new one...we'll figure it out. Or go to amish country and buy a new "old style" one... even if it costs more...

One of my farmer's has bought a couple from a local auction barn that sells estate stuff... cheaper than fixing them when the ones in the barn quit that they wash all the "wash rags" they use on the cows... That's what I am looking for now..
