@CLSranch we've missed you. Glad all ok.

@CrealCritter you've been MIA....ok there???

So far very light snow, maybe an inch. Some crusty top. Possible rains today & temps in 20s. Sounds like fun!! 🫨
Yep OK here, yesterday and today, cleaning up from 12 3/4" snow and staying warm.

I got only a skiff of snow but, ICE !!!

So looked at car and it was totally, solid iced...1/4-1/3" 😱 couldn't even get a hold of door handles try to open. Hood, top, trunk & entire driver side...just a slick of ice. With effort, got the passenger side open. Started it & 20 min later, I could start getting some off. Never before! Took also an hr to rescue it. I need to go to work tomorrow -- no time for that in AM. Supposed to be about 1* at get up, so glad I did today.

I had no idea, lol! :hide (I'm right there with ya on that!)

i snagged two rather fluffy looking fantasy books today so i have no cares at all what the weather might do. we also snagged some donuts and potatoes so Mom doesn't care either and that was after we dropped off some food for some friends so we did our good deeds and i had a nice conversation (i don't get out much).

I learned my lesson last year. Covering with just a simple cheap blue tarp, slide it off when the ice is done falling. People will think you are a genius.

It was -1 this morning when I checked, but I think it got into the 20's today and was sunny. I tried to be out in the sun as much as I could eventhough it was cold out, I ❤️🌞 Still didn't warm up enough to defrost anything. Maybe we get some defrosting tomorrow? 🤔

Yesterday's planned Amazon delivery arrived this morning. They had sent delay notice -- weather. It was the heat fan I'd ordered for my propane heater stove. I'd expected something about half again as big...🤔...but, it's sitting on top & spinning it's little heart out! Totally quiet. The heat goes straight up with these heaters, no matter the fuel source. Ceiling fans help circulate but they're not in same room. This will help "some" at immediate heat source. We'll see....it's only heat driven powered.
If it's those eco fans, yes they are amazing. I love mine on the wood stove. I've also put one in the camper (and before in the garage) on the Mr. Buddy propane heater. It doesn't blow like the dickens but helps a LOT. Yes you're right, on most unfanned heat sources the heat goes straight up. I've taken my diesel (and fan) powered heater off of jobs because nobody else would leave the pipe... etc... in front of it, to retain heat. They just couldn't get the concept that the heat will stay in the large metal pieces instead of going straight up.
Also the reason for the buddy heater in the camper is a blowout took out the wiring to the furnace, therefore I also put a large pot of water on the stove to keep hot with a lid on it. When I had a large canner/crawfish boil size pot with over a gallon of water in it, it would stay warmer with only 1 little burner on low than 2 burners on med/med lo.

Even now with with the last few days at single digits (or any time it's this cold) and well colder than my woodstove can keep up, I keep my canner on the stove with it half+ full of water.

Well...it's 9% here outside. House is warm! That little fan does help to direct some of the heat outward into the room. I can see a difference in this area.

Scheduled work for today. Can't go. Both truck doors frozen shut. Car that I de-iced yesterday, no has no heater. Guess something under hood is frozen/ too cold with heater workings. Fine yesterday. So, can't get windows clear to see. What a mess this is! 😖😡 And I was feeding by headlight at 6 to be there. :th everything still frozen. Used last of water from heated tub to help open water in their drinking ones. Unplugged it. Now I'll have to tote water out there & replug for later today. Ice on other tubs of water is almost 3" thick now, so can't break it --- this is a disaster. I'd rather have the snow I hate than this.

Sorry about this... the ice storm last year, with extended power outage taught me a lot. I incorporated what I learned into our preps.

It's currently 13F some light winds from the south west and sunny. So much better than yesterday 😀. A number of my local friends went back to work today, saying the back roads are icy and sketchy at best.

It generally takes about 10 to 15 minutes of engine idle for the heater to start working.
