As a mom of two boys, I had a flashback! You were being a little boy who didn't want to eat his cauliflower. :love
lol, I finally got to the point where I will eat raw broccoli and cauliflower, still won't touch the white stuff cooked though!

would it work if I'm using the chicken broth which contains alot of chicken fat? :D and if I'm doing stew don't I need a thickner agent? I really appreciate it, I've never actually made stew before, and I haven't looked up any recipes yet :)

and 'Zilla ? :P
If you use rice, it will be thick. If you use a bit too much it will be a cassarole!
If you use pasta, then use cornstarch or rice flour to thicken.
And yes, your broth should be fatty enough.
oh, awesome! I totally missed the rice, especially if you put it in dry! :hugs thank you! I think I'm going to fish the bones out of one of the crocks and try this tonight! I don't have carrot or rutabaga but I do have turnip, so I could dice one of those and toss it in, along with a leek, and part of a frozen bag of mixed veggies and let that sit overnight?! then SO can take it to work for lunch tomorrow! :woot :woot Thank you so much BB! If we were closer I'd give you a jar of my strawberry raspberry peach jam :)
:drool

lol, not sure if that was for the jam or the stew but either way i'll take it as encouragement :D Even better, I can also freeze this! :woot I think I'm going to do one that is just the broth and whatever is in there plus the turnip. A kind of root soup, just add potatoes and carrots when you thaw and cook :D nom nom nom the possibilities!! Oh I'm gonna love my freezer! But we are going to need a second cooler!! crud :he

All real foodies have to have 2 fridges
I still have only one, but with the root cellar should do fine it now.
But we have one upright freezer and two large chest freezers.

Oh, I know we are going to need a second one, but that wasn't what I was referring to :D I'm going to need a second cooler/chest for the move :) we only have the one cooler and I'm going to have too much frozen to go in it. I'll just have to hope the stuff stays cold enough for the trip

I move in January. *laughs*

They're renovating the place!

We spent a bit extra and bought a Coleman Xtreme ice chest that was rated for 5 days the last time we bought a cooler. I didn't get one quite as big as the link, but I love mine. It REALLY keeps things cold. :thumbsup

I have a 7 day rated cooler. Ilove it. Saves a fortune on ice.

Nice! I remember the last time I moved in October, I swore I wouldn't do that again! Of course, the last time was when I was in middle school, and living in eastern montana, and it was halloween weekend, so it was really cold and snowing  and it was just across town so we used a small pickup for the loads

ooooh! we might have to spend a little money and do that! that looks pretty! :D I clicked on that link and it took me there, and then said that it was in stock at my local Minot store. I was confused, as I don't live in North Dakota, and then realized the last person to look at anything walmart on my laptop was my friend S several weeks ago, and she had left herself logged in
