Colowyo - grudgingly settling in :P

Tuesday - 6 days left until we leave!

So I went to bed before 9 pm monday night because I was tired. SO woke me up at 11 something all excited because after spending two hours with google earth and some other resources he finally pinned down which trailer in the park is ours :) He was so proud of himself, and wanted to show me, so I stumbled out and looked and oohed and aahed and congratulated him on his success. Then I stumbled back to bed. Spent the next 20 minutes alternating between trying to clear my clogged right nostril (hows that for specific? :D ) and trying to sleep. Gave up and got up and put my contacts in. I imagine I'll go back to bed here soon.

So far today I've done two loads of laundry, the second is drying. I've been working in the spare bedroom. I got one box of knicknack/beanie babies boxed up, and one box of picture frames. Need SO to bring home a bigger (wider) box for the larger frames that are just a scosh to big for the ream boxes I brought home from work :) Also, I've finished off the ice cream, and drank a mountain dew.

To do today:
Finish dismantling the coop and duck run
Take care of the carcasses in the pots, and start the next batch
Put away the laundry washed during the night
Make breakfast this time, and dinner
- does cooked rice freeze well?
Work on a business plan if I get bored with packing
Find more stuff to put on my to do list :D
 
good morning :P. I am up listening to the neighbor's dog howl. Again. :tongue
 
The box of eggs is too funny! :gig We found a stock-pile of eggs hidden in the corner of the chicken coop once, silly girls!
 
I've frozen rice before-- if it's been fully cooked it will turn out kind of mushy but still edible. If you undercook it just a teeny bit it will be better

Thanks for that :) I plan on making a chicken and rice casserole and then freezing it for later use. Just wasn't sure if it would hold up or not :)

We had this stupid cardboard box on our back deck, partially covered by a tarp. Apparently the lovely hamburg duo were laying their eggs in this box for several weeks! :he :he :smack stupid birds.

So, it's not just my hamburg foursome that are trouble! Never had any trouble with our EE's laying only in the nest boxes UNTIL we added the hamburgs to the flock when we moved out here to AR from TN.

That's when every day became an easter egg hunt! :he Put them all in lock-down for a while, tried free ranging again and the hamburgs lead the "we'd rather roost elsewhere" revolt. :smack Yep, they're Dutch one-a-dayers if that includes being a pain in the bleep, at least once a day! :gig
