I'm excited for your trip. Mostly because I get to see you!!!:D

Found out lasst night that Alan and Gloria will be coming on Tuesday and leaving Wednesday. I told Carl it was going to be the rotation of the in-laws. Abigail is going to be in Seventh Heaven to see three of her grandparents in as many days. Too bad Grammy won't be coming with you. :(

There's a supposed "good" Chinese place here. In the Top 100 Chinese places in America or something. So we went for Valentine's Day last year. We were not impressed, and the service was terrible. Did you want to see Jared while here? Maybe we could find a cache down by his place.

Can't wait for Sunday!:woot :celebrate

I had a pull up and wait experience last night at McDonald's too. Probably close to the same time as yours: 9:35. Waited 5 minutes for my crispy chicken to go on my sandwich.
How did you like Star Trek? I'm also wondering how you liked Wolverine, but I'm boycotting it after their treatment of the last X-Men movie.
Have a safe trip and please give my love to all my sisters as you see them.
Wolverine had too much roaring and too much Sabre Tooth and Wolverine flying through the air at each other. A few characters that came and went but it was probably needed to set the stage.

Star Trek was unsatisfying. I grew up on Star Trek. The new characters did a good job capturing the essence of the character but the story line and the set left much to be desired. The Enterprise looked like it belonged at the end of the series of movies instead of looking like the original Enterprise. This movie happens before the TV series so the Enterprise should have looked like the TV series. Also using time travel was too much of a gimmick. The Kobayashi Maru sequence was real hokey.

You know, you can quote more than one person in a post. I'm getting email spammed by my subscription for your journal going off, because I keep immediately coming over and reading it. :p

I enjoyed Star Trek, and appreciated the nod to Captain/Admiral Pike. I felt that a lot of the characters were well captured--especially Spock and McCoy. I can totally understand the shortcomings for you. As for the time travel being a cop-out, well, it's a usual theme for that series, so it didn't bother me at all. I thought it was a good excuse for making a prequel imperfect.

I refused to watch the new Star Trek because they used way too much CGI. If they used scale models, I would have been all over it. Star Trek needs to start moving forward, not backward. Start moving past Voyager, and then all the CGI super-duper high tech stuff will look right, and not out of place. I've watched all the series, including the horrific Enterprise. There is still an audience out there, but lets go back to what made the original good, stop trying to reproduce the original. I actually have heard that they liked the new movie, including my parents. Oh, well.

Sorry. I really like Sci-fi, and will keep on hoping. And catching up on Battlestar:Galactica. (the new one. :hide I'm only on season two)

I know you can quote more than one person but it is easier for me and little more personal to do individual posts. Remember, I'm old and technologically challenged.

Now I need to get to bed so I can get an early start. I hope the kitten doesn't make a mess of the car. I'll be in big trouble if she does. I didn't have the heart to close her up in a box. She didn't like it.

I think Lulu was traumatized by her box ride home to our house from Petsmart, and that was only 30 minutes. I hope the kitten does ok too.
