DH surprised me yesterday, but it means no goats for a while.
He put a down payment on a 3 acre lot on the south side of a mountain (hill for you real mountain folks). It is for my off grid, underground, dream house. I am still in shock!!! I have butterflies and everything. Right now I live on an island, 9 ft above sea level. My dream home will be 847ft (according to the GPS) above. My ears were popping up a storm. It was amazing. The man we are buying from has 40+ acres and he walks us up a road and says "Between here and here, you can choose where you want your lot." So we walked to the highest point and when I turned around, the view took my breath away. I could see the ocean. We picked out our spot, the surveyors come next week and put it on paper. Had to share.

Now he is convinced of an economic collapse and is going into SHTF overdrive. It is fun to sit back and watch. I might get goats/cow still.

Hurray! I'd take that over goats anyday. I'm sure that with the acreage, goats are probably on the horizon! So this is bare land and you get to design how you want everything from scratch? How wonderful is that?
