Well, at least the wind is drying up some areas that are still a bit wet. Who knows, maybe by the end of the week I'll be able to walk in my field w/out wearing muck boots. But then again, there is the chance of showers later in the week. :/

Well, I have 2 white eggs in the incubator, and 11 green eggs, some from my hen, some from one of RU's hens. This is the 3rd time I've put eggs in the incubator, and so far, I've gotten exactly 0 chicks. B4 I ever put the eggs in, I got a new thermometer and a hydrometer. I did have to add just a little bit of water because the humidity was just a little low, but I didn't add much. The humidity is staying pretty constant at right around 50. Temp is steady at 99.5. I am constantly checking to be sure everything is where it belongs. So, I'm hoping that the 3rd time is the charm, and not 3 strikes that I'm out.

In other news, I got summoned for jury duty today. First time in years! I have no problem w/serving, I just don't know if they'll really want me once they realize I have hearing problems!

As for the hearing problems, you should be able to talk to your Audiologist and get them to write you a letter of excuse citing your hearing problems. We have done that before for patients (I work in a private audiology practice).

Gah, I found the wind here when I left work. What the heck, they weren't calling for that!

I don't have an audiologist, and I don't really mind serving-they just need to understand that if they're not facing me, I won't be able to tell what they're saying.

And I STILL say that CL sent us his wind. I wanted the good stuff he bakes, and he sends me wind.

I'm with ya on the wind thing. Hrmph. Keep that kind of thing to yourself!!

Well, have fun serving. I think they will usually reject you if you have that kind of problem, but I don't know. I don't want to serve... I'll just tell them that I have several friends that are cops, my mother was a paramedic and I'll side with the law and I'm also a proud NRA member!
