I'm slowly getting back to normal. Yesterday, I went to the hay auction. I really didn't want to get any square bales since I didn't really feel like stacking hay. I did bid on some in a half hearted way, but was outbid. I was able to get 4 RBs for $25.00! But, since I didn't have my trailer w/me, I just had them put one in the back of my truck. Today, I'll go and get the others. It's supposed to rain (again) tomorrow, so I'll probably just leave them in my trailer. Then, I can unload them as I need them, and they'll stay pretty dry.
I was able to get back to work in my garden yesterday, and I was able to finish one section. I have just 2 to go, then I can put manure on the last of it, and fence it in. I'm a bit late, but I'll be getting my seeds started this week.
I haven't used my clothes line in a few years, and want it move. First off, it's not in a really good place. And secondly, my hubby put something right next to where the in ground post for it is. (I have the umbrella type clothes line.) So, yesterday I decided to dig out the post so I could move it. I didn't realize it's in there w/concrete! I dug it out part way, then stopped. I'll do some more today. I just hope when I get it all dug up that it won't be too heavy for me to move it.
I'm hoping I last the year in my job. I'm about ready to quit. First off, she's constantly at me about how long it takes me to do stalls. Last Monday it took me 95 minutes. But on Friday it had take me 73. I've told her that it always takes me longer on Mondays, that I don't think the other person gets them really clean. I'll find huge pee spots on Monday that I don't find the rest of the week. But as far as I know she doesn't check the stalls, nor say anything to the other person. Plus, I don't think she gives me credit for what I do know.
Yesterday after I was done working, I had some phone calls to make. Since I needed to kill time b4 going to the hay auction, I just sat in my truck and made them. Someone showed up for a lesson-and couldn't catch the horse they needed. Then the dog got in on the act, and he was chasing the horses! So, I got out of my truck and went to help. She had managed to get 4 of the horses in a small pasture. I opened a gate, and got 2 of them out w/no problem. That left the horse she needed and one other. She handed me the halter and lead. Then, I started for the horse she needed to get. There is a way to catch a horse using body language. Depending on the horse, it can be very quick, or it can take awhile. I've used it on this horse b4, and can normally do it quite quickly. But to someone who doesn't understand, it looks like you're chasing the horse. So, my boss looks out the door and starts yelling, don't chase him. I'll be out in a minute. Just do what you have to do. (There have been times SHE can't catch this horse.) OK, I'm done work, I've already clocked out, so there's nothing I have to do. Basically, I ignored her. If I had taken my concentration off the horse, I would have had to start all over. And fortunately for me, the horse went behind the barn so she couldn't see what I was doing. In less than a minute, I had him caught. She was still in the house. Not once did I chase him. I led him in the barn, put him on the cross ties, had the person open and close some gates, then left.
Right now, I have a ton of eggs! I found a nest the other day. There were 13 green eggs in it. So, either one of my chickens laid them, or the one EE that RU has did. She's not home, so I took the eggs. I put some water in a pot, and checked them. Not one floated! So, it looks like I'm good for eggs for a bit! I trying to get a hen broody, so this means that I have some eggs to use while I'm collecting eggs to use. And, I'm putting fake eggs out hoping this will make her think there's a whole pile of eggs in there. I'm hoping this works. I want chicks!
