I agree! They never appreciate you until you don't work there anymore.

Haven't felt like updating, but need to do so.
The funeral was Friday. I was out in the foyer when someone I knew came in. He and his wife used to attend my church, then left to help this church get started. Never mind that my church was really small, and he left a big hole when he left. This other church needed him. I have not been overly happy w/him for some time, and Friday, he did nothing to make me like him any better. He walked up to someone and says, are we having fun yet? Fortunately, I was the only one in the family to hear him, but it was completely inappropriate. I've shared it w/a couple of friends, but WON'T share that w/my brother.
Most days I get eggs now, sometimes all 4 of the girls give me one. I'm not putting the ones from the farm in the fridge w/the rest. I'm trying to get Henrietta broody, so I'm switching out her eggs for these. Roxi laid a huge egg on Saturday. It wouldn't fit in the egg carton! I had it for breakfast yesterday. It was a double yoker!
Today, I'm going to work on my garden. I hope to get at least one, if not both sections ready. That way, I can then get the manure in, mark out my garden, and get the early stuff planted. The way I do it is to plant the early stuff in what will be the rows for the rest of the garden. That way, by the time I'm ready to plant the rest, it's pretty much done. I'll be starting seeds this week. I was going to do it last week, just didn't get to it.
My boss ran out of the one food that she had for her one horse. She went to get another bag only to find out that the feed store didn't have any in stock, and wouldn't have it for a week. There's another feed store that carries it, but it's closer to me than to her. I called them up, and they had it. So, since I had to go w/in a half mile of it when I was shopping, I picked up a bag of the feed and dropped it off Friday afternoon. I had to go right past her farm. I didn't work on Friday, had no idea when I'd be able to get there, plus had no desire to clean stalls either b4 or after a funeral. After I put the feed where it belonged, I checked out the stalls. They looked clean, but then I started moving shavings around. It didn't take me long to start finding manure. Then I found what I was looking for, a pee spot! I moved all the shavings from around it, and left it. I don't know if my boss saw it or not. But at least I have some ammo now if she gets on me about how long it takes for me to do the stalls on Monday. I've told her the other person doesn't do a good job, now I have proof.
Well, I need to get some breakfast, then get out of here. I can hardly wait until I've quit. I'd be going back to bed now instead.

That is a terrible thing to say at a funeral. Perhaps he was trying to be sarcastic? Well, perhaps he is one of those folks who "doesn't know what to say at funerals".....I've heard people say that they do not go because of that. At least he came to show his respect. I've always felt like saying nothing would be better than saying the wrong thing.
I wish I were as far along on my garden, waiting for this rain to stop at least for a part of a day so that things can get dried out. I want to pull that lilac upright asap. I need to get my garden plot fenced and Hubby doesn't do "outdoor" projects in the rain unless there is some urgent deadline. I don't think getting my peas planted is going to be enough emergency for him! I'm thinking of actually having several planting areas though. I won't do heavy digging or any lifting so I'll have to enlist the help of my sons I guess. I get light-headed lifting stuff now....

I must be doing something right! We got our electric bill yesterday. Our electric usage was down by about 40% from this time last year! 
And, our bill was $100.00 lower than last month!
I was able to get most of the next section of my garden done yesterday. Today, I may not get to work on it-I have 2 doctor's appointments. Wednesday, it's supposed to rain-again. That's the big problem that I have w/this time of year. W/all the rain, there's places at the farm that are almost knee deep in mud. The soil there has a lot more clay in it than around here. There's a lot of sand, so the soil drains fairly rapidly.
Hubby has started to work a lot of OT, and this should last for about a month. So, that means I should be able to get a lot done around here. I can't do any house work when he's home. He doesn't want me doing it them, wants me to do it when he's not home. But, if I were to work just when he's not home, it doesn't all get done. Yesterday, I started to work on cleaning my basement. Once the one section is done, I'll be able to get most of the upstairs cleaned, plus I'll be able to get rid of a ton of junk. I'm hoping w/the OT, we can finally get the freezer I want. We have a chest freezer, and I HATE it. I can't find stuff in it that easily. I prefer an upright. And, hopefully, he'll make the pantry I want in the basement. Then, I'll have everything I canned where I can get to it easily, as well as room to store all my canning supplies.

CONGRATS on that power bill. That was a big one for me also. When I took control of the bill I lowered by 80-90 bucks also. Wonderful feeling isn't it? To save that much money is increditble!
hey on your job? you are getting more summer hours, but is the cash that you make really worth the aggrevation? I see you mentioned a few times it is truly annoying you and you really want to quit, so why stay? Put the money on paper and see if 'that bit of extra' months is really worth the trouble. You just saved 100 on that bill....there ya go!! Stay home, save money, and boom, you are ahead

There are some things I want to buy that I can't-w/out the money. I know from experience that if I spend my hubby's "money", he'll get upset. So, I'll suffer thru for a few more months, then I'm outta there!

It's raining today, so I don't know what all I'll get done. I'm working on cleaning "my" pasture. I've been picking up the manure, and raking the whole thing. But w/the rain, don't know that I'll really get any of that done. I might be able to pick up some manure, but that would be it.
