Denim Deb Hay, hay, hay. Thank the Lord!

I used to know Morse code-on paper. Never used it for anything but having some fun w/the kids. Always wanted to do more w/it.

My brother-in-law used to be vey into ham radio, but doesn't do much anymore. Some of those group activities sound like lots of fun!

I woke up last night w/itching ankles. Once again, I have chiggers! :barnie And I'm not the only one. I mentioned it this morning and one of the other people said their ankles were itching. So apparently, some place we walked yesterday had chiggers hanging around. So, I made sure I sprayed my legs and hiking boots this morning. I'm really getting tired to getting chiggers and will be glad when chigger season is done. I've never had them as much as I have this year.

I HATE chiggers. It's seems we have them most of the year here. Not so bad since we got guineas though. I'm really enjoying reading your journal. :)

Thanks! I'm enjoying reading yours as well. As for the guineas, I don't think the county would be very happy if I got a bunch of guineas for the park!

I went outside and worked in the yard for a bit. Had to wait until it got a bit cooler since it was just too hot today to be out in the sun-especially since I'm not used to it. And now, I'm bit up by mosquitoes as well. I just can't win. :hit

Ok Deb, you are gonna hate me.....

Mosquitoes never bite me. I have no idea why, they just fly around my head and get on my nerves, but they bite everyone else with me and just leave me alone. Fire ants on the other hand... They must LOVE me. I get bit and get big blisters from those critters.

It was hot here today too, but supposed to be MUCH cooler the next few days. I'm looking forward to it.

It's supposed to be cooler here after Saturday. I'm so hoping they're right.

And as for not getting bit, :somad :rant :plbb At least we don't have fire ants around here!

Ewwww, so sorry about the chiggers. There's a ton of 'home remedies' on the net - but I'm not sure what might really work.

Be glad you don't have fire ants - they are HORRIBLE and they do horrible things around here. I had a broody hen trying to hatch eggs a few months ago. As soon as a chick would pip the ants would be all over and inside the egg - killing the chicks. I finally figured out what was happening and pulled the eggs to hatch in the incubator. Bad, bad ants!

Good luck on getting rid of the itchies!

Plain old white vinegar works great on the itches, so I've been treating them w/that.
