Here, that is big time! We all feel respect for those who can produce and can a beautiful veggie or fruit. This is where it matters most....where the competition to do the same thing is much more fierce!

I got my Welcome Letter from one of my schools today. I go for meetings a week from Monday. DH does as well at his school. Students, including DS start the 26th. Sigh, I went to Staples today and bought a new planner. It's really over!

Congrats!!
One of my friends entered for the first time, she was making gluten free baked goods and she place 4 out of four entries.
It is so exciting. I know people who won! Woohoo.
I love winning at the fair. I didn't enter anything this year deadline came up too fast. But I plan on entering something in the harvest fair this fall.

Glad I got the good news about the Fair, because I have been really bummed all day about going back to school.

My sister is at the Missouri State Fair as we speak and she has called me with the results of the Canning Competition.

I entered 28 entries total and 17 PLACED!

First Place = Snap Beans (gotta love those Rattlesnakes!), Spaghetti Sauce - in other sauce class, Dried Herbs (5 kinds), Strawberry Jam, Strawberry Jelly, Black Raspberry Jelly

Second Place = Beets, Carrots, Tomatoes, Grape Jelly (Niagra Grape), dried Onions, dried Celery, other dried vegetable - Leeks

Third Place = Corn, mixed pickle - Hot Veggie Pickles, Blackberry Jam and Sweet Cucumber Pickle (Which is our own Punkin's delicious Icicle Pickle recipe!!!)
