Farmfresh City Homesteader - the sound of falling oaks.

HA HA farmfresh...yea there isn't many forums where you can type all about tanning hides and someone "gets it"--LOL I know what you mean. I chat about the farm on another forum and people think I am nuts..HA HA

you sure are a busy beaver!

So glad you are sleeping better. That is just a world of difference how a person functions thru the day! You sure are a wealth of info on SS things. The more you learn the more you can pass off on us and give us ideas. I had no idea a sheep hide sold for like $200...wow...that is serious money!

:thumbsup for tanning. I tanned some deer hides a few years ago using materials from Van Dykes. They turning out OK. Breaking was the hardest part.

You can be Secret Santa too, except I don't need the knitting needles. Getting a gift basket like that would be so cool.

Can't wait to see pics of your hides...please post some!!
Thanks for the tutorial and info! I am really wanting to do this out of some rabbits so I can make some beautiful stuff for DD!
If you ever want to trade some rabbit hides for fertile eggs I would love to!!

I got cramps in my hands breaking the hides. A lot of pulling and stretching. I think I also worked them on table edges, chair posts, and things like that.
