Plus a cold front has moved through. This mornings temperature in Missouri is a sunny 58 degrees! Nice JULY day!

It was 53 this morning when I got up but we are at 56 right now! Sure doesn't feel like July here either!

Quail there were some birds there that I had a hard time NOT buying! Some beautiful Colombian Delaware pullets 6 months old for $1.50 each!!! Three pairs of Black Rosecomb bantams (one pair was show quality for sure) went for $7.50 for the pair! Started quail $2.00 each and several frizzles that were really nice for $3 each!

I thought of each of you when I saw those animals go buy. "Quail would LOVE those" or (my friend in Ohio) "Torrie needs that" . Sorry no alpacas, but how about a red dun and white spotted mini donkey with this years spotted palomino jenny foal by her size probably about 38 inches tall max with beautiful face, liquid eyes, exceptional ears and nice clean legs? I think they brought $50 for the SET!

I'm coming to Missouri for a visit! When's the next auction???

Farmfresh, Our "local" animal auction is also an hour and 10 min away. Its every thursday tho. I was going to go last night but had to go with my mom to take care of some business instead.
You veggies look great. BTW thanks for relocating the coon. The one person that was talking about the neighbors drowning the coon gave me the willies. Drowning must be the cruelest way to die that I can think of next to starvation. There is no way I could ever drown anything. Don't get me wrong I own a very nice .22 and do almost all the dispatching around here but quick and painless is alot easier to carry out.

Not my neighbor - I'm in the sticks and out here people just shoot.

My friend lives in a high-end snooty gated community in the city with homeowners association rules. The HOA rules call for her to humanely trap the animal then call the HOA animal control "police".

In the meantime, you are expected to "treat the animal humanely" (while it is still in the trap, apparently) until they show up. Last year it took them 29 days to respond. No shooting is allowed in the community.

My friend has already captured 4 coons this year. She doesn't like the drowning either. But she can't keep wild coons in a trap for a month until the HOA animal control guys show up and the animal is handled according to HOA rules.
