I was noticing the same thing today. My free rangers aren't getting much out of free ranging it seems! Time to pen them anyway.

getting down to -15*F (-9*C) at night.
I truly do NOT understand how life goes on at those temps. It's in the low 60's here, but damp and windy and I'm COLD! Regretting wearing open toed sandals to work today. Supposed to start raining tonight I think...

Sheesh Joel how far north are you? Are those normal temps this time of year? That's brutal, and I'm used to the cold!

I think it might snow here tomorrow night, but not enough to amount to much. Good, I'm not ready!

We're just a little ways north of the U.S. border, more or less above Idaho. We're slightly warmer here than the average winter temps in North Dakota.

Many parts of Canada get colder winters, ones that would be comparable to Minnesota, and if you lived up northward in Canada the temps would be more like deep inland Alaska. One saving grace where I am is that we rarely get stiff winter winds.

Bonus of ice fishing- you don't need a cooler, stick your beers in the snow!

Major thread hijack, sorry 'bout that!

More spring and fall sounds good! Christmas without snow is just sad though, so we need some snow.

Snow showers here today- DD was beyond thrilled. Forecast says 7 tonight, -8 with wind chill. Mount Washington (highest peak in NH) had 105mph winds and -40 temps today. The forecast up there always entertains.

Ok, so I've caught up on some posts here and noticed there was quite a conversation going on based on miscommunication lol. Here:

We've been having days that are a couple degrees on either side of freezing, and getting down to -15*F (-9*C) at night. It'll be colder soon. We've had some snow, and more is on its way. Once we get a good layer of it, we get our skis ready for cross-country exercise.

Everyone noticed the -15F but not the -9C. It was 15 not -15 :)

As for cold, it felt like -20C here yesterday. That would be -4F. It was actually only -10c (14f) but the wind chill was packing quite a punch. We're back to a more reasonable 0 (32f) today, and the rest of the week should be a bit warmer. I'm in a 5a/4b so @NH Homesteader and I probably have some similar winters.

And winter is banging at the door for sure!
