Yes @flowerbug inflation goes up, people are upset and then it slowly sifts down, but NEVER back to the price it was before. Never.
Rinse repeat. And we wind up with higher prices than before the latest economic cycle.

I remember gasoline for 15 CENTS and a gas war was when opposing gas stations on opposite corners lowered their prices, not bombs and destruction.

My parents made less than a thousand dollars a month and we lived well. When I was in High School in early 1970’s, the fanciest pickup truck that Ford made was less than $5,000. My son just bought a brand new XLT Ford dually, just above base model, for $93,000.

So I don’t need to be told to budget, invest, shop smart and be selective. Been there, done that. Still do. Things are getting priced out of reach for me and millions of other people in this country. No amount of budgeting and investment can keep up with galloping inflation.

What??? I just checked my WalMart and they are showing the same price as you. It has got to be a misprint.

At Kroger's, the boneless Pork half loin is $1.47 lb.

Here, we never see tomatoes on the vine for less than $2/#. Potatoes, on sale are about .80/#. cheese never less than $4.00/#.

Pork loin is pretty average here. We looked at Costco Business Center today. $1.99. Pork tenderloin is $2.99 there.

They wanted $5.99 for pork baby back ribs which is outrageous. I usually won't buy them over $3. Local restaurant supply gets sales often enough at around that.

Costco Beef brisket was $4.99 but I bought it for $3.50 on sale last week at other store.

Pork and chicken are still priced reasonably here, but beef hurts a bit. A marinated sirloin is about $9 a pound.

Wrote this on my FB wall:

Inflation is reported to be 3.1% Yeah. Right. Just about everything has continued to inch up.
According to the Produce Price Index by Commodity, pistachios prices peaked in April 22, then have been falling, leveling and then falling again thru December 23.
So why have the Costco pistachios increased in price since Nov 23 to last week, Feb 24 by 13%? How do I know? I have my receipts. Same warehouse, same brand, different prices. GRRRRRRR

Today's "surprise".....P&G reducing quantity, NOT price, on most all laundry products....gain, tide, etc., by 10-11% yep. Been posting new price strips all week and program sheets include sell thru sizes for the reduced quantity slots. 69 oz becoming 63 oz in bottle, same $....118 oz, down to 105.

Same deal dental products.

AND their profits soar. 😡
