Beau is doing well. At first I kept him tethered while in the house, but today he's having his first day of liberty inside. He's sleeping in his favorite spot and so far is doing so well. He has a bit of a food obsession - not aggression - just seems fearful that someone is going to take his food away so he gulps it if anyone is around. Working on that...

Started the steroids for the hand yesterday and think I notice a bit of improvement today. Sure hope it keeps up - if not - off to the hand specialist I go.

Impatiently waiting for fall and seriously hope no storms head our way before then,

If, after a couple more days there’s not major improvement, I will definitely make the appointment. Ugh!

Beau already knows to stay offa the rug! Such a smart little guy! (And cute too!)

Beau has a brand new bed on the way...then he has no excuse to be on my rug, lol!

He got his first varmint tonight! Went out to potty and he pounced on a great big ol' …. wait for it....
TOAD! YUCK! He wasn't wanting to give it up but I wasn't about to let him eat a toad....silly puppy!

The rut is happening - whether I want it or not. I'm having trouble deciding on breeding "plans" for this year. Part of me wants NO part of it! But we know that'll change. Likely the bucks will knock down a cattle panel and make their own plans, lol.

Nothing like a puppy to get you on an early morning schedule whether you want to be or not, lol!

We'll be going to MIL's apartment and cleaning some things out of there. I'm snagging the washer and dryer and a few other things but the majority of things like furniture, linens, pots and pans, dishes are being donated to some folks who need it. Her caretaker's extended family will benefit from most of it. It's good to know it's going to good hardworking folks who will appreciate it.

Starting to think about getting some, carrots, cabbage and brassicas started for fall gardening. Goodness knows I need a success or two from the garden this year. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great either.

The tropical system are starting to stack up....eeek! Not much indication of where they're headed yet.

I am a sucker for Black and Tan markings. Toss in some white trim and capture my heart. Beau is a lovely pup.

Did I miss something or am I in a brain fog? You are cleaning out your MIL’s place?

I would have loved for him to have a white collar - but I love him just the way he is!

MIL was living alone in an apt with a caregiver who came in 3 days a week and DH there almost every day. This is the same caregiver that took care of mom and dad while they were here. MIL fell twice in a week and we knew something had to be done. Nobody wanted to think about a nursing home and she can't afford assisted living...:( This wonderful caregiver took MIL into her home and is giving her the best care that anyone could ever want. Works great for both of them. MIL is thrilled to be with her adopted family and Caregiver makes more money and gets to work from home. Win/win.
