I’m going to have a hard time not keeping a bunch of ewe lambs, that’s for sure 🤣
I was going to move with Ringo the ram and 10 ewes........ blow that to the moon. Last count, it will be Ringo and 14, maybe 15 ewes. Those darn ewe lambs are just too good to let go! Will be going to Tennessee in July to get another ram. I have 5 young ewes that are bred too. 2 of those are registered and I'll be keeping their lambs....... I need to find a new (to me) farm SOON. Then I get to move all over again. I'm already SO tired of this moving crap!

NEED MORE LAND SO I CAN HAVE MORE SHEEP..........

I have 11 acres now, but it’s mostly woods and/or brush. Working on clearing a bit at a time! So I can keep more sheep 😂

Moving is no fun. I can’t imagine having to move your entire farm! And then move it again!
Well at least I'll have some good practice, second time ought to be better, maybe I'll know what I'm doing.

It's easier when they're all related to your ram and you can't breed them. I didn't keep any lambs last year and won't this year. But I will have to get another ram in a few years. My oldest ewes are 7 years old, so probably in 3 years I will need to get a new ram and hold back some ewe lambs.

Yeah I’ve gotten to be friends with the lady I got most of my sheep from and she will let me use an unrelated ram anytime I want… I likely won’t keep a ram after mine is gone, I promised to keep him so I’m stuck with him for a few years 😂 he’s a good boy for a ram though so it’s alright.

After taking 2 truck and trailer loads to the Groveton house yesterday, unloading, or should I say just tossing things in the house? I'm exhausted and still in a coma after 4 cups of coffee.
I've got to get dressed and go drop the stock trailer. That involves backing it up, which I still suck at doing. Son is on the way to load the 8x16 portable building on his cousins tilt trailer and take to Groveton. I'll probably have to make a trip down there to block it up and take another load. At least the house is as finished inside as it's gonna be and I have half emptied this house and next Saturday can probably finish emptying it, except for a recliner to sleep in while I refinish the floors and run back and forth between here and Groveton. Got to build sheep/dog pens!
You're gonna need to sleep for a month after this move!

We're still scooting along with no major winter problems. However, we do have one of those Arctic cold fronts headed our way this week. We're only expecting lows in the upper 20's (for now). The forecast always seems to change so I guess it's a wait and see scenario.

Yesterday was a pure gift! Beautiful not a cloud in the sky weather and temps that reached 70. I spent a lot of time outside sitting with the kids. Some of them have decided I'm not such a terrible monster and have decided I'm ok to chew on and bounce off of. I put out fresh minerals and gave the girls some copper laced pumpkin. They love it and it's so much easier than actual bolusing.

Moved some goats out of one area and moved the horses into there so they can have some access to part of the barn and a round bale. They'll likely need it for the rest of the week.

Got some tractor time too. My pasture has several spots that stay mushy forEVER after a rain so awhile back I decided to try to take advantage of that area and scrape out a little pond. I did some work awhile back when we weren't sloppy wet and I did some more yesterday in anticipation of this week's rain. It's not big but good enough for some ducks. I'd love to make it into a "real" pond someday
