It was very windy here too today. We didn't get outside much, the wind was cold! We went to our grand daughters Christmas program, age 2 and 3, they were so cute! We went to the grocery store, post office, picked up DH's truck from repair and came home. I wrapped Christmas presents for the little grands, the oldest is getting money. DD and I went shopping Tuesday and I bought a lot of clothes for the little girls, they needed everything. They wore their Christmas outfits today.

True... I hate having to hire someone to do something I know nothing about. One thing I do know is that my bank account is a good bit smaller now! And, I always have the feeling that I got screwed...always. At one point he told me that the breaker was bad and that he would call an electrician. I said no - I'll call my son. He says - we need an electrician. I said - my son IS an electrician. So, I called my son and told the repairman that son would be here in about 15 minutes. By the time my son got here the repairman had removed the breaker and spliced some wires. My son has his special electrician tools and after the guy left he tested the removed breaker - it was fine. So.... my question is WTH???? I really think he was trying to pull a fast one on me and get his 'friend' the electrician some extra money. ARGH...he got enough of my money - but I need to let it go. Hot tub is running and has lots of new parts (whether it needed 'em or not). :(

Windy as crap here today. I had a bunch of hay blow in my face and a piece of it got in my eye. Now my eye won't stop tearing... and it itches and burns. Last time this happened I ended up at the eye doc and not only had a scratch on my eye I had an allergic reaction, in my eye, to the hay that got in it. So very unpleasant and it feels a lot like the last time. Maybe I can "borrow" some of DH's eye drops when he gets home and self-treat.

Almost got killed by a slamming door too. It's dangerous out there! The trailer where I keep my feed has a solid metal door and that sucker caught the wind, slammed against me and nearly knocked me down. Had a tiny bit of warning that it was about to get me and braced against it - but I'm gonna have a giant bruise on my hip. Owie!

Critters are not happy with it either. S'posed to die down tonight - thank goodness! I think it's wine-thirty so I'm about to get in to full-on relax mode!

I absolutely hate it when repair men try and take advantage of people. I've bounced more than one repair man out the front door and threw his tool bag out the door behind him. Over $300 to replace a breaker in the sub panel breaker box? I laughed in his face and said you think I'm stupid? Your here to put a new bearing in the dryer. What the hell does that have to do with the breaker in the pannel box? That's why I started doing all repairs around here myself. I'll be damned if I'll let another repair man in my house or take anything to a repair shop to fix. If I can't fix it myself or with my sons' help, I'll buy just replace it with new. When people ask me to fix something for them, I make sure I show them what is wrong with whatever it is in a way the can understand so they know exactly why I'm replacing what I'm replacing.

Wind & hay -- don't mix well!! Weather has been difficult all year and I'm sure hoping 2019 will improve for everyone. I would love, love, love to have a nice, productive garden -- good weather to work it -- an uneventful kidding season -- no more snow and hey, might as well add a lottery win to this wish list. :D Would sure enjoy it if we could all have good 2019 results.

Strange that the hot tub was working, then quit. But a glass of wine & good soak sounded really, really good. Let me tell you that it is difficult to drink a glass in a hot shower! :hide Our hot tubs were both on enclosed sun porches, so yeah, relax & look at the stars. Dream on, don't see that happening here anytime soon. ENJOY the repaired hot tub!!

Thanks everybody! I found some "allergy" eye drops and am pleased to say that I woke up this morning with no after effects from an eye full of hay. Hip is sore, but it works. Can't ask for much more than that. Thankfully today is calm with beautiful blue skies.

Didn't even get in the tub last night - just too windy to be enjoyable. Tonight will be another story!!

I've spent a couple hours in town this morning and I'm absolutely, positively NOT going back until after Christmas! Nope - not gonna do it. Nobody can make me and if I don't have what I need by now - I'm just not gonna have it.

Lucy's udder is really filling up and her ligaments are getting to the pretty mushy stage. Maybe within 10 days or so we'll have babies! Woo Hoo! Hoping for doelings of course. Ready for milk again - at least as long as the weather is nice. I'd like to be a fair-weather milker. Little neighbor boy is in goat milk withdrawal...poor fella. He asks me every time I see him if I have goat milk yet. I told them I'd give 'em the little Nigi doe after she kids and they can have their OWN milk goat! I still don't understand why dad says no.

Just had my first really awesome post repair soak in the tub. Worth almost every penny even if I did get screwed, lol! Glass of wine, full moon, warm bubbly water....it just doesn't get much better than that!

I'm counting down my days off and they're disappearing way too quickly. Only have 11 days off left... :(. Sure hope a doe or two will deliver while I'm off - but it's iffy at best. Not really worried about Lucy. This will be he 2nd, or is it her 3rd kidding? I dunno - should check I guess. PIA is the one I want to watch closely. First freshener Nigi… always a bit of a stress factor. Hope she has two but she's not real big so I'm afraid it's a single. Time will tell I guess...

Glad your eye is o.k. now. All this talks about hot tubs :( I love this house I'm in, but it doesn't have a bath, only a shower. The bathroom is small! I looked at portable bathtubs and though the prices on some are reasonable, you get what you pay for. SMALL. Inflatable. Just not o.k. I never thought I'd miss bathing so much.

I'm not a "bather". The last time I took a bath: In a kiddie pool... on the back deck... under the stars... in November... with a fine glaze of ice on the deck. Had to watch my step coming in so I didn't slip on the ice. We were remodeling the bathroom, and tub/shower was out of commission. I actually enjoyed that star lit bath!!! It was... shall we say?... invigorating!

I'll bet that was great, until you had to get out of the water! ;)
