we have a few people we know that when we call we leave them messages on their answering machines but they never listen to them and just call us back, which if we have our phone on answering machine just perpetuates the game of phone tag. just listen to the messages you nimwits! gggrrrrrr! ...

unless they don't know how, which may be likely in a few cases...

Got another cash surprise in the mailbox yesterday - how crazy is that? Seems we'd been overcharged for some of DH's prescriptions and we got a nice $100+ refund! I could get used to this, lol!

Nothing much going on - still trying to get a fall garden in gear. Planted some seeds in tubs and the chickens were very impressed. They love them some sprouts. Starting over - again.

Normal goat stuff...worming, feeding, milking. Went out to find one of the gals not feeling well the other morning. No idea what her problem was....she was laying around shivering and wouldn't even get up for feed. Half-Kiko gal with bright red membranes, no limp, no digestive upsets, no bloat. Whatever it was some probiotics and vit. paste set her right. :hu

Moved some of the young doelings and then turned out a young buckling with the grown-up girls. Don't even know if he can reach 'em, but he's trying, lol. He will be offered for sale in a couple weeks.

Calling the hand doc for a consultation next week. Think I've reached the maximum amt of healing (and it's not enough) without medical intervention.

Pups are a whole lot of fun wrapped up in two furry, troublemaking bodies! And (drum roll please) Beau got a rat! Found him carrying it around the yard - oh so proud of himself! At only 3.5 months he's taking his job very seriously!!! He also saw the LGD's barking at a buzzard a few days back so now he scours the skies and barks at anything that flies. He's getting it. :celebrate

How's weather there?

How long were you without power? See you posted last Sunday.....5 days ago! WHAT??? You abandoned us?

You still have Missy? Not heard anything, even a mention of her name 🤔 Everything else going ok? Miss your posts.

We got less than a half-inch of rain but had pretty healthy winds this afternoon in the 20+mph range.

Missy is still here and has turned into the LGD that I always hoped she would be. Cowboy is still Cowboy, lol. Belle has had a couple of chicken sized bumps in the road, but since Cowboy read her the riot act she seems to have abandoned that foolishness, lol. She's almost as tall as the grown-ups but needs to do some serious filling out to get near them in weight.

The power was out for a couple of hours back when I posted about it. There were warnings we might lose power today with all the gusty winds - but no problems.

No abandonment, I swear! I've got two puppies to chase after, lol. Biggest reason for my lack of typing is the problem with my right hand. I will be seeing the hand specialist on Wednesday next week. I've given it 4 months to heal on it's own, but I think I've reached maximum self-healing at this point. Hope all I need is some serious anti-inflammatory or something...really don't want surgery but at this point would welcome relief in whatever form.

Thanks for checking up on me!

Get that hand checked out! You may need a "little" pro help. 😁 Your DH has probably already suggested that....:hide

So -- 2 pups keeping you busy??? Well, it will pass soon. They will become adults. Just enjoy them and their antics. Once grown it becomes more "business".

And how is the goat breeding? My does seem to ALL be flagging tails & screaming. We are talking real hussies here. I've not had it this pronounced in a long time....but, then, there are 15 mature ones.😁 7 done.....it will end soon. I'm a tiny bit late this year. Oh, well.
