At that age not much helps. I had the wildest of them in a small pen so they were easy enough to catch. However, these guys were all in that 30ish pound weight range and soooo much stronger than you can imagine. Plus, I didn't disbud any of them and they already know how to swing their heads for maximum impact, lol. Even the tamest ones will flip out the first couple times they are restrained like that. In their little mind it's a game of survival. They were all hooves, horns and voices, lol!

snuggle bribes, slowing down, not letting the herd see what is happening to the chosen one of the moment, just thinking about the issues/process and how to maybe make it easier. not sure it makes any sense to you, but i'm here for ya. ooh, ok, wearing some old hockey equipment? good job goalie! haha! :)

Well a few months ago DH bought a new buck and put him in with the two does. He thinks they are both expecting. One will be her first time and the other will only be her first with us. I’m told she didn’t do well last time.
How exciting! Hope they both deliver beautiful, healthy babies!

Up and at 'em this morning. Hope to get outside and do some box burning before the wind picks up. But if I don't get moving it won't happen again today.

Started thinking gardening. I'm slowly cleaning out some of the raised beds. I have pea seeds that are begging to be in the dirt. Picked up some onion sets too...don't even care if it's the right time to plant, lol. They're going in the dirt too!

Pulled the last of the rainbow carrots yesterday. Decent haul. I've been harvesting a few here and there for quite a while now. So sweet and delicious!

Still pushing DH to get more movement and activity. Slow but steady improvement. Need to work in some strength training too. He's going to get in shape whether he likes it or not, lol! Thank goodness he's a good sport about it and wants to get better - finally!
