That must have been shocking. Made worse by someone being thoughtless. It sounds like maybe they were trying to spare people pain on Mother's Day but they really didn't think it through all the way.

DH's theory is that it has to do with the personality of the man who first found out this morning. He had no thought other than to spread the news as quickly as he could. He likes to be large and in charge of anything and everything so he took control of this situation and bulldozed it. DH isn't at all surprised it happened like this all things considered. He's disappointed that his fellow bandmates didn't think to call him though. He knows they're reeling from the news too, but honestly, by the time you're our age you've been through this a time or two and you know you kind of have to suck it up for a bit to spread the news as gently as you can. At least that's how I see it but apparently I'm over sensitive .... whatever!

And now he is on the phone with his sister which will help him tons!! It's going to be a late night though I'm afraid. Once he starts talking it's just going to keep coming out which is better than bottling it up

So sorry to hear of the loss of your friend, and how it all came about. Shame that guy was so thoughtless and to put his own wish to be important above the feelings of everyone who would be affected.

I'm glad your hubby talked to his mom and sister. I hope you are doing ok with dealing with it too. Hugs to you both.

Hen, it's never easy to hear news like that, and even worse when you get the message that way. for your hubby, the rest of the band members, and everyone else that cared about this man.

Thanks. Going to bed. I'm tired and it's going to be a long couple of days. Tomorrow is a full day of work, baseball and Cub Scouts, homework and who knows what else. The mother of one of DS's classmates is having brain surgery on Tuesday and we are all pitching in to cook meals for the family. I complain everyday about having to cook dinner for us when I'm tired and cranky after work. I'll have to stop....
sheesh I'm a fountain of happiness over here tonight! Definitely bedtime.....
