Congratulations on the duck eggs! We would never eat them straight out either; I'd just use them for baking.
Need some??? They should be fertile. They could be incubated. My drakes are a Khaki Campbell and Blue Swedish. The girls are KC, BS or BS/runner duck mixes. The eggs all look the same though.

Oh just got an email that our chicks are here in CT. The lady who ordered is working late tonight so I can't get them until tomorrow afternoon which is just as well considering all that is going on this morning!

So very sorry to hear about Kobi...we went thru something similar about 5 years ago with our dog Chloe...she would fall & not be able to get up, or walk into a corner & not be able to figure out how to get out. It was probably the saddest thing I've ever gone thru. I hope you find it's treatable, & have him around for many more years. :hugs Prayers going out for him & your family.

Thanks for the offer, Hen, but I think we're getting out of ducks until we can build a floating duck house for the pond. They're just too messy to raise - not that I don't enjoy them, but as ducklings they make a huge mess out of the basement bathroom and I always have to clean it up.

Maybe next year.

Good luck with your doggy. :hugs

I expect the end isn't far off. I've been saying that for a few months now. I don't know that it's going to be today. I'll be able to bring him home after the appointment most likely and we can make decisions later. I'm a little worried about leaving him since he's not crate trained and I don't have one big enough for him anyway. Shutting him in the bathroom would cause him more stress than anything. Sigh. Time to see if I can get him in the car by myself. At least he rides well. If I can't get him into the back of the wagon I should be able to get him onto the back seat.
I hate when they get to that point :(

UPDATE FROM HEN:

"....he is home and resting. They really couldnt find much. He doesnt show evidence of having had a seizure or a stroke. He may just have fallen off the couch and taken a while to recover. He will be 14 this spring so that isnt all that unusual. Hes gotten a little better as the morning has gone on but isnt totally himself yet."

Glad to hear it wasn't too serious!

Sounds like a pretty lucky dog to me. I hope you get a lot of more good months with him. So sad that their lives are so short in compared to ours. :hugs
