How are you an expert?

Expert definition: X is the unknown factor in many mathematical equations, or an x boyfriend, spouse, etc. A spurt is what you get when you have a pin hole leak in a hose or pipe. So, and expert is a unknown or has been drip under pressure. :hide

Hm. I consider myself a jack of all trades rather than a real "expert" at anything. I am pretty good at most livestock. (maybe except pigs. They are delicious but scary. I will pay someone to raise them!) I spin, knit, crochet and weave. I water bath can a little bit- still haven't gotten over spending the big bucks for a pressure canner. I am getting a garden in this year for the first time in 2 years since the house had been for sale and I didn't want to work on a garden. I suppose fiber would be my most expert thing in terms of what I do, though.

Sniff. Sniff.

If I am an expert at any subject it would probably be horses. I trained, showed and gave lessons for many years until my health issues stopped me. I have EXPERIENCE at most other (and it is a wide range) homesteading subjects since I have been doing this now for almost 50 years!! (I got my first duck when I was about 7 or 8 and bantam chickens soon after that)

I currently raise Katahdin sheep, chickens for meat and eggs and Bourbon Red Turkeys, although I have never raised goats, pigs or cattle. (I do have close family with cattle, but that is as close as it gets. )

I have some major health issues that limit me these days, but nothing has stopped me yet.

Yay turkey people! We have a few pure Chocolate and a few Black Spanish/Blue Slate crosses.

Really cool to see the variety of subjects represented here.

Good for you, FF. You are an inspiration.

I have experience with a ton, but my expertise would have to be avoidance of food allergens. Thus, I cook a lot lol and grow my ingredients whenever possible.
