22 chickens and 5 ducks, these days.

I find my poultry numbers go up and down. I've bought a few, sold a few, hatched a few and lost a few, ate a few! But this is a good amount for my space, less than 30.

Gee I dunno. It keeps changing and I don't have enough fingers or brain cells :p At the moment, I guess it's:

son's "hen pen" has 3 red stars and 3 EEs = 6
partridge chanteclers = 5
main sussex pen = 6
pullet sussex pen = 5
spare sussex cockerels = 2
= 24 chickens

plus 8 turkeys, oh wait plus 2 more in the other pen too, although 5 of those are going into the freezer real soon now so I don't know if they count.

40 various layers (including some roos),
Your roos lay?
 I wish. Then I'd be getting more than 3-4 eggs per day.

I classify them as "layers" or "broilers", so the non meat roos get thrown in with the "layers". ;)

I have 30...28 layers and 2 roos. One roo will be given to a friend soon, a couple of older hens will be given to someone who wants a few pet chickens, and the rest of my older flock are going to be culled for raw dog food soon...one per day until all the freeloaders are gone.

Then I will have one roo and 18 hens.

Currently 6 young hens. Three Black Sex-links, one Welsummer, one Golden Sex-link, one Ameraucana.

This summer I raised 5 Broad Breasted Bronze turkeys and 29 Cornish Rocks. They all reside in my freezer right now. I also started an additional 4 or 5 pullets that were sold as started.
