I don't shop at Walmart for many of the reasons that have already been stated and one that I don't think has been mentioned: My husband works in the manufacturing industry. He doesn't make anything that WM sells, but I'd like to think that somewhere, someone is making the conscious decision to buy the American Made products that he does manufacture. We try to do the same by not purchasing from Walmart and hopefully we can keep people manufacturing in the US. I often wonder...What will happen when America no longer has a "product" to sell? We are no longer the nation that performs best in academic pursuits. We no longer produce enough food to support American people.
Though I don't shop at Walmart, I also have plenty of access to other stores. If I didn't have those options, then I would probably be another one of the horde going to Wally World!
I thought that some of the comments about the quality of Walmart's produce being better was interesting. In our area, most people find that it is just the opposite, so maybe that is a regional thing.
I think that everyone chooses their own battles to wage...Not shopping at Walmart is important to me. Is it the most important thing in my life? Nope...just a conscious decision that we've made.
