Inspired by Farmer Chick...What is your "to do" list today?

Butchering a deer today. Everything else needs to go on the backburner. the weather is so mild here at the moment, we can't let it hang any longer.

To do:

1. Clean out the car.
2. Prepare for today's hay delivery.
3. Go to post office.
4. Capture and set aside a rooster for new buyer.
5. Clean up after the sheep.
6. Go to the feed store.

to do

stay on healthy eating plan big time
(got away from it a bit and now in control again! --I like when I have control...haha...means better meals for everyone. So cooking again from scratch and being conscious of what we eat. Which I almost always do, but got lazy and opted for eating out more. That is stopped now.)

Groceries today. Haven't been in about 15 days. Only spent $100. Only good foods I needed. $142 down to $100 with coupons and sales.


Washed tons of eggs for market.

Making soaps as usual.

Laundry---UGH-----rainy again for the next few days also. using dryer and ticking me off but doing small loads to try to wait for sunny day, which should be Sat. Then doing all of it! And hanging out..LOL


Gotta work on goats. Trim hooves, worm, CDT shots --all that. Doing later today


Re-load and re-order all egg cartons and soap supplies needed. that takes tons of time on the net
Ugh--but has to be done today. gotta get reloaded to continue business

Did some banking biz and transfer auto payments to other accts and such. hate doing that stuff! but done!!

clean bathrooms a bit and tidy up...usual junk

Wish weather was nice. It just "isn't" and is ticking me off.


BUT THE TREES are turning a beautiful color of gold and reds out there and that makes me smile! I just love seeing the color out there in the scenery!!!

Clean out the car ended up on my list. Not because I wanted to, but because I lost $50 in cash and thought it was in the car Turns out it got thrown in the trash along with some receipts, fast food wrappers, and various other garbage. I was so glad I found my money AND now my car interior looks great

I got some more Welsh Harlequins from CityChicker at BYC. She was getting rid of her big ducks so she could get bantams

Take E to Doctor's (This is a SUPER important appointment today that was scheduled for him by SSI!!)

Attach wire down both sides of run and confine the chickens! FINALLY! (I really need to get this done, because First Ladies Betty and Martha will not stay off the road!)

Good luck at the doctor's! I'll be praying that you get good results from this visit.

I am surprised to hear Betty and Martha.... although Betty and Martha have been known to hang out together, usually if Betty is anywhere, Mary is with her. I used to call them the Patty and Cathy team (from the Patty Duke show) because they were always together.

Having spent ALL yesterday sewing like mad to get the kids' chicken outfits done, and 3 hrs this morning finishing them (except I need to put on better eyes, right now it's just paper safetypinned on), what I would LIKE to do today is collapse

In reality, today's list has to be:

take kids to Early Years center halloween party DONE

get pumpkins DONE

carve pumpkins DONE

major toy and H's room cleanup b/c horde of
neighbor kids is coming over tomorrow and rain is forecast DONE

plant garlic, due to abovementioned rain forecast DONE

someday I really do have to clean the turkey pen too DONE

(edited to add: and make new eyeballs for chicken suits!) DONE!
