My EE jumped the fence and got killed by the neighbor's dog....I miss those green eggs.

I had a little Japanese black tailed buff rooster named buddy. He was my first rooster and just the sweetest little thing ever. All my hens were full sized and he thought he was THE MAN! I keep threatening to get another one but my husband will kill me. That little sebright is GORGEOUS!!!

The Brahmas all have that brooding angry brow. I agree they would look best on a plate.

Deb - I should totally name him Napoleon Or Napoleon Dynamite, heehee. The little dude is in the doghouse though because he won't stay in the yard - and all the other chickens follow him over the fence right toward the neighbor's garden. I don't think he'll be able to stay here.

FF - I have never seen a gold Brahma before! Cool. Our only Brahma roo dressed out nicely at 6 pounds.

So it's rooster day. I'll be heading out soon to put those suckers on a plate.

A friend at church wants to buy the 3 ugly mystery pullets, so that is that.

So the mystery gendered EE is officially a HEN! Caught her laying an egg this morning. I really thought this was a roo from the start - she was aggressive, had alot of red coloring which is indicative of a roo, and her tail feathers are green! She's just manly looking

and, my goats are getting FAT! Oh my goodness. They started gaining weight with the last load of hay It's an alfalfa/timothy mix. And we also got their grazing area set up so they go out for a few hours in the evening to munch, but they are getting more exercise than before so I wouldn't think that would be the cause. I cut back their hay to once a day but they still seem to be gaining.

Their coats look so good now. I put them on new minerals and just look at all the color on Rory! She used to be almost all cream and white and now she has all this lovely tan growing in.

I have a duck named Pat, but she's always been a Patricia, named for my friend Pat Campbell.....
Now, what to do about the duckling named Petunia. I'm thinking drake more and more each day!

My 2 younger goats are getting fat again too. My CAE positive doe is even putting on a little weight (which is saying a LOT)

Now that I think about it - my goats have not been vary active since last fall simply because it's been either too wet or too hot to get out of the barn :/ I hope we get a break soon.

Both adult goats were in heat yesterday I'm not ready to think about it yet.

I weighed one of the doelings to see how they are coming along and she was 55 pounds at 6 months - pretty good. She's a 2nd generation minimancha, so a few more months and I think she will be ready to be bred.

It storming again, woo hoo Has anybody had nice weather this summer? Because it's not here.
