Tomorrow morning, I will put straw around the potatos...im so excited to see them growing so well!
He LIKED IT!! I was sooooooooo happy! What a great mothers day gift from my little ram. I felt much better knowing he had a tummy full of milk. Then he just settled down in my lap..and let me scratch him...and even laid his head on my chest...resting.
Fed the rest of the crew....chickens, ducks, turkeys...11 pens...and came inside for my shower. DH got up, and we headed out to Ohio..to spend the day with his parents. Had a great time there, a good meal..and finally headed home. I came in, changed into work clothes, and headed out to the barn with another warm bottle...not knowing what to expect from Sonny. He was a little scared at first...but I grabbed him up, sat him in my lap..and he sucked another bottle dry!
I think he is getting the idea. I picked him a handfull of sweet clover, and grass..and he ate it from my hand. I think he is starting to finally settle in. NOW if I can only get the girls to accept him. He still has to stay in the inside pen, for fear of the girls hurting him. Hopefully soon, I can put them all out in the pasture together. Hope everyone had a GREAT Mothers day!

Sonny didnt take to the bottle as quick as I wanted him too...but, I have to admit..it was easier than I thought it would be. He only gets his pellets after the bottle...and only 1 1/2 cups of pellets each feeding. Seems like alot, but he gobbles them right up! He sure is a little eating machine. The gal I got the sheep from, is coming by this week to check on Nelly. She is really...ummm, "fat"? Im hopeing she is fat...sorta..hopeing she is preggers. If she is preggers...the daddy is a Babydoll sheep!
Im thinking she is just eating well. She has LOTS of green grass...and pellets. ( I need to cut back on the pellets so they eat more grass.) Its just hard to say no, when they are climbing on me...and begging! :/
It all sounds soooo fun! I can't wait to get a sheepers....and the lambs to come. I'm glad your Mother's Day worked out and got your mind off your mom. That first year always seems the toughest for folks...the first Christmas, birthday, anniversary, etc. God sends us comfort in the strangest ways!
