I'll try this again, sigh... I'm sure I fat fingered something... Big thumbs, small phone. I'm constantly having to edit to correct auto correct on this phone. In case your wondering...
I obviously can not post a decent message. While editing to fix font issues, 1/2 my post disappeared and I'm not going to re-type it. So I just deleted the entire post.
I don't know if you all have noticed the red sun at sunset the last 3 evenings or not. But it's not limited to my area in southern IL. I've seen pictures that look just like this from all over the country and some other parts of the world, the last few days. I don't ever recall seeing the sun looking anything like this before. Some say smoke causes this but we have no fires anywhere close that I'm aware of.
I like to take sunset pictures, so I'm always on the lookout for a good sunset to snap pictures of. Here's a few pictures of the sunset in auto mode from yesterday evening (12 Aug 2021).
Thinking my eyes might be playing tricks one me. I asked my wife, is it just me or is the sun red? She said it's most definitely red. I asked her, have you ever seen the sun red like this before? She said no. I then said did you break the sun? She said she did not break it. So now all I can say, if you broke the sun, please fix it. Please make sunsets truly amazing spectacular wonderful awesome beautiful again - thanks!

Seriously... What is causing the sun to turn red when setting low in the horizon like this? Does anyone know? Any hints? Smoke? I much prefer the orange fat ole sun that produces breath taking sunsets, over this red ball any day.
Be on the look out this evening, post pictures if you can... I hope the sun goes back to normal soon.
