Continue ripping weeds and grass out of deer netting around cattle panel fencing of the garden. Until we can buy the paver tiles to do a proper edging, I plan to lay a border of cardboard around the outside of the fencing. That will make it easier to control weeds.
Plan for spring: lay a border of 12" pavers, with a 6" buffer zone between pavers and CP. Will plant wooly thyme in that space. I'm hoping that will make it easier to maintain. the wheel of the ride on mower can ride right over the pavers. Inside, wood chips should keep weeds to a minimum. Raised beds 54" wide (to allow CP trellising to be placed lengthwise, or crosswise in the beds.) 40" paths between beds. NE corner of the garden will be left free of raised beds, to allow various planters or cold frames to be used. NW corner already planted to 2 permanent raspberry beds, SW corner already has 2 raised beds interplanted with asparagus and strawberries.
Found 2 baby garter snakes this afternoon. they were escorted into the garden.
Started a flat of seedlings for the greenhouse. An assortment of lettuce, spinach, kale, non heading broccoli, bunching onions, cilantro.
