Lorihadams-- hi guys...been busy!

The pictures are so great. Thank you for sharing.

It seems like yesterday when you started talking about your granny giving yo the house and getting land from Chad's family. I was so worried abut the double mortgage. And look at you now!! How long did it take you to move and get set up Lori? A year?

I think you guys have done an amazing thing for your family. You deserve the joy!!!

Thanks for the pictures chickie! I love pics LOL.

I'm in the initial stages of reading up on bees. I'm not sure if I can bring myself to do it though..I hate bugs, bees, hornets..etc LOL.

Sure looks cool though, and having all that honey and wax may out weigh the fear LOL.

Lori, I always love your pics, you have a beautiful piece of propery and you guys have worked hard and it shows.

Awww thanks guys!

I'm in tax he!!....we gave the accountant our stuff for the business on a disc in excel and after we called him Saturday to see what was going on he informs us that after having all of our tax stuff for over a month and a half he couldn't get the stuff off of the disc and he never bothered to call us so he is filing an extension. :somad :rant :somad

I get paperwork for the mortgage stuff in the mail today and they need a copy of our 2010 taxes by April 25th. I don't know what I'm gonna do. Stupid accountant. He will NOT get our business again.

Got the block for the garage foundation paid for today ($971) and it will be delivered this weekend and we are going to get the lumber for the front porch to the barn so I can get the girls in there to milk.

It was a year ago that we got started on the well and septic for this property. We moved in in June, I believe....hot as blazes :P

I am so glad that we were able to sell the other house....we made money, not as much as we wanted but we made enough to sock away $14000 in savings and pay off 2 credit cards. All we have now is 2 1/2 yrs to pay on our truck and the mortgage on this house for 10 yrs.

I'm really proud of what we have done here...it's been a lot of hard
work and some tough decisions but everything has worked out for the best. I love being able to have room for my kids to run and ponds to fish in that are both walking distance and cousins right next door for my kids to grow up with. We are planning on getting a few cows but we are still researching it.

I am also grateful to everyone on here that has given me advice and listened when I complained and vented my frustrations. Everyone on here is like family to me in a way and I am so grateful!

Remember the rule about moving an established hive - "Two feet or Two MILES"

Bees use landmarks to find their hive. If you move a hive 10 feet they will all return to the spot where the hive USED to be and never find the new location. :( Move them two miles (for a while) they get new landmarks, then move to the desired location.

Sounds weird, but do the research. :hu

Just be sure you have them where you want them to stay, before installing!

Beautiful pictures....I just have one question........

Will you adopt me??? I realise I am quite a bit older...you can adopt me as your long lost aunt?? LOL Of course...I want to move in! LOL What a great place for you all to make lovely memories. Your kiddos will tell thier kids...." I remember when...the bees...the well...the ponds." LUCKY KIDS!
