LovinLife- Happy New Year's all!

I've heard of people hanging clothes by the wood stove but we have too many clothes! I'm sure you can relate (Lori) :lol: I'm so excited about this wood stove. Today we had a MOMS Club Board Meeting, I'm the new president. We met at the park while the kids played we had our meeting. It was before 10am so it wasn't crazy hot. After that I went to a wood stove store to try to get a part for our "new" wood stove but she didn't know what a Sequoia was and was really no help. So I guess I'm going to have to go the internet route. It's a small frame piece that goes inside the door, so it should be easy to find and not too much to ship. I stopped by the feed store and got some cracked corn and pig pellets. Hopefully the last bag of pig food I will be buying for a while. :drool I also got an azalea and a phalox (?) plant for $3 each. Now to spend the rest of the day trying to stay cool before heading off later to get DS into Cub Scouts :) .

Thanks SD my place is neat and tidy. I'm very much a type "A" personallity. I also think that it's very plain and needs more landscaping and animal fencing. ;)

I'm starting with baby steps but do intend to grow plenty of corn, tomatoes, peppers.....
 
Try growing cosmos! The make whereever they are growing look landscaped. I love that flower. They are super easy too and cheap and reseed themselves. I love cosmos.
 
While DH was on his way home from work at 10pm tonight he saw a truck stop on the side of the road. He then saw the truck take off again. When he got to that part of the road there were two dogs on the side of the road. Now, we live in an area where we see huntin' dogs all the time. We see them full of ticks and skinny. But this is the worst! These dogs are in bad shape! The male is bones and skin and his toe nails are grown out. The female isn't AS skinny but I think she may be pregnant. She has suffered some abuse and is very scared too. When DH called 911 to report the truck and ask for some assistance with the dogs they told him sorry but Animal Control was closed and there was nothing they could do for him. :somad I don't know what I'm going to do about these dogs yet. Maybe I can take them to the vet and nurse them back to health and then find them good homes.

One thing I can tell you is take it easy on the food. When an animal has been starved to that point too much food can cause problems with their heart and other organs. Just little meals, several times a day to start. I would also feed each one a good dollop of yogurt each day for a while to reinoculate their gut with good bacteria.

I'm so thankful that your DH found them! And I wish "justice" to the ones who dumped them! God Bless you for taking care of them!

X2 to everything. Raw meat with probiotic yogurt or kefir and maybe some sweet potatoes for food several times per day.



Wanted to add how we do the clothes by the wood stove.
I have a rod that hangs next to the stove, up high.
I put everything on hangers and stick them up there. That allows me to get lots of clothes in a small amount of space.
 
Oh my God! Don't look, SD! It's pretty gruesome. I wish people would get their pets spayed and neutered! :somad Please take FFs advice and go slow on the food at first.
 
those poor pups... i dont even have words. ugh.

so glad though that you were there to see them and pick them up. give AC a call tomorrow and see what happens... good luck with them.
