I don't give them only 100% alfalfa pellets. 
I mix a little in with their regular rabbit chow. I don't think it is Purina. It is the only one I can get locally (living in the middle of nowhere ) I don't see much different between giving alfalfa pellets and giving alfalfa hay. It's nutritionally the same thing in a different shaps.
The pellet "rabbit chow" doesn't seem to have any fines. Not enough for me to notice anyway.
