Oh Walmart! I loathe, hate and despise the self check out!!!!!
1. It’s cutting someone out of a job.
2. The time I spend on checking out my own stuff is not calibrated, divided into the hourly wage and appropriate discount applied to my purchase.
3. Walmart you suck.
4. It’s only a matter of time before we have to come in the back door by the loading dock, be awarded a pallet to go stock the shelves.
5. Walmart you still suck.

And worse, the major grocery store in town prices are as we say it in east Texas, “Higher than a cat’s back”
Brookshire Brothers ( brothers split many many years back) is headquartered in Lufkin and they quite effectively keep competition out. The other family branch is headquartered in Tyler and Tyler finally got big enough that competition could no longer be kept out. There is a HEB in Lufkin, small, shabby and I feel like I need a shower when I leave. A blight on the HEB grocery store chain.

a friend of mine worked there a while. he got fired for trying to stop a shoplifter. policy is clearly stated, do not touch the customers... oops.
