Ditto--not sure on the mush thing. If it is oatmeal porridge, I have a great crockpot oatmeal recipe somewhere around here. Pleas clarify and we'd love to help.
I dont know what it is, but here is what I have lol
cornmeal
hot water
stir over low heat til thickened and mushy *gig*
add whatever you want to flavor......salt and butter, cream and sugar, maple syrup.
make the leftovers into patties and fry in grease.
mush biscuits
1 qt mush 1 c sugar
1 cake yeast a dab salt
1 c potato water 2/3 c flour
1 c lard
dissolve yeast in warm water, mix ingredients, add yeast and stir in flour, enough to make a stiff dough. Set to rise where is warm. When dough doubles, roll it out and cut into bicuits. bake as you would flour biscuits..

I am not a cornmeal fan. I hate the little itty bitty grainy parts. The texture gets me for some reason.
Tony eats cornbread like crazy...but never did the mush thing. I will see if he wants me to make him a bowl of mush...he would load it up with maple syrup or something I guess???
