I figure that it is about time that we have an 'official' goatie thread over here on SS. Unfortunately the sheep thread perished but I thought that was an excellent idea for people to share info and pictures pertaining to the animal. And so many of us on here either have goats, or are interested in getting some.

So.. OFG, how about you post some more pictures of your newest arrivals, eh? :p

Ok, here is most of my herd. I don't have pictures of my boys yet because they always get too close and I don't have a picture of my new Alpine. But here are the rest.

I'm new to goats so I probably don't have a ton of words of wisdom but have been in alpacas for 13 years now so I'm trying to transfer over as much of that knowledge as I can.

I have mainly Nigerian Dwarfs but I do have 2 Boer does and an Alpine doe.

Those babies are SO cute!!!

My cousin's goat just gave birth, I can't wait to get over there and see hers.

We have seven does due from early April into May. I CANNOT wait!

hey BB! sure i'll bite...

so i've got a couple goatie posts over on my completely self indulgent blog:
http://adventuresinthegoodland.blogspot.com/2010/03/skip-poppin-goats-and-more-farm-notes.html

(pardon the shameless plug but Nifty really needs to let me have more room for uploads.....)

until then, here is little Ginger.. who we are hoping will be really la mancha and will one day be a milker. otherwise...gulp.. she will be "Curry" and served as such in honor of Boubon Red who just cant get over that no one else is thinking of the cabrito (Dude! i so AM! .... working on it...)
