Whew. Glad they are doing better. Did you just give them bottles of the electrolyte mix, instead of milk, or in addition to their milk?

I stopped giving them milk and am giving them the electrolyte solution instead. Those were the directions given in most of the sources I read. I am feeding them about every two hours during the day and smaller amounts at each feeding. I also feel their bellies to see how empty or full they are. I don't want them to get bloated.
I let them drink as much as they want at each feeding. They have been sharing a baby bottle and not even finishing it off. They are doing well on the baby bottle.

This morning the alpine cross still has really loose poo. Her rear is all wet. I didn't see the Nubine cross poo this morning yet. But she was doing much better yesterday allready than her sister. The Nubine was the sleepy head and we had been more concerned about her. Now I am more worried about the Alpine. But they are both very lively still.

I hope to take them outside today. We are supposed to get some sunshine later. I am a firm believer in sunshine and fresh air.
Since there hasn't been a ruminant on this property at any time that SO remembers and he grew up here, I figure there should be less danger of the kids picking something up from the ground.

I had to switch to the baby bottle, because the handle on our dishwasher is broken. Only SO and DSS can open it. I had put all the kids feeding things in the dishwasher to sterilize them and couldn't get them out. :lol:
I had bought the baby bottles (at my favorite place: Goodwill Outlet Store) just in case, so I was glad I could use them. The kids took to them no problem. Actually they seem to work better. We'll see what happens, when I switch them back to the Pritchard nipple.

Yay for normal doo-doo!!!!! :weee
You bet! It's amazing what excites us, isn't it?

I'm about to give them their first milk after the electrolite treament. I accidentally scalded it and I am considering it devine intervention. :lol:
It made me remember my mother scalding the milk before giving it to us, when I was kid.

I finished the milk stand I was making!

This cost nothing to build; we found all the wood in a dumpster last year, I already had all the bolts, nails, and screws, as well as the eye and hook etc.

Here is what I started out with;
Covered in Styrofoam;

Then I took each board off, reattached closer together, and sawed it up a bit;

Then I added legs;

Then the start of the head lock;

finished;

I need to reattached the feeder better, so it works! A bit crooked, I didn't really measure anything, if I did I think I'd still be out there. BUT it is sturdy, and the goats haven't noticed any minor mistakes =P
