hey! ohmigosh you all are great... sure i'll take one for the team! i'm not banned YET - was able to get a nice note back from that gal. she appreciated the support and i hope to see her over here sometime soon.
so i need to hurry and wash the farm off and get to town
but not before i tell you about the loose dogs that were running around. i snatched one up and TBM took her to animal control. obviously she's someone's and broke loose from her tie out. but cant say the same for the others.
of course its the ONE DAY that i need to go to town so no one is happy.
you know - sometimes those guineas are right.... hum.. they put us on the alert and i went charging out there.
what those stupid people who let their stupid dogs run loose dont know is that hunting season is gonna be here soon... and the hunters dont take kindly to dogs chasing off their game. they'll solve the problem for us but in the meantime its more and more fencing...and more and more of my bad attitude.

well its hot. like africa hot. but the wind is blowing so at least there is that. we are all praying for rain.
yesterday we moved the hated hogs down into their new yard. the female ran right down there - the male is still afraid of the gate. sheesh!
we decided to do more fencing so they could clear that area. we'll do more perimeter fencing as well. this way we'll have a clear shot.. i mean.. i clear line of sight if we get more vermin or invaders.
apparently now that everyone is back in school, folks are just letting their dogs out for the day. great strategy. we have a fancy development behind us and i guess they dont know that anyone actually OWNS the property in back of them. or that everyone on this side has livestock. harumph.
no word if anyone picked up that husky.
been working on more canning and have finished up all the apples that we have. i'll work on squash and pumpkin this weekend but woudlnt you know it...
.. I NEED MORE JARS!

we got 26 in the box.. we lost one so we are still technically not at a loss. they are already growing so fast the we are moving them to one of the kiddie pools from the goose yard. they will stay in the basement for another week or so. not too smelly yet.
i'm taking Itchy of "Itchy and Scratchy" aka Dog#1 to the vet today. we lost to continuing flea battle and need to take another run at it. hopefully he wont need a shot of steroids to knock the reaction back. drat.
thats the word here.

I'm down to 10 from my original 11 creepies, too. I still have 18 Americaunas, though. Probably a couple of Georges in that batch, oh, well, we need some new roo blood for the spring homegrown chicks. I'll do what I did with the three George Jr's and play rooster soccer right from the first moment that they show that they are roos! SCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE!!!

Does your fancy development have a golf course I saw plans for the field that borders the back of our property - it's basically going to be a park with bike trails and crap. A water feature butting right up against us. I hope the developers want our land and buy us out. Get. me. outta. here.
If they don't buy us out, we will push for big fences.

i guess i've just about had it with the pervasive bullying thing that is going on. i just cant keep my "hell no" to myself when i see the meanies chasing down a new person. i mean, we all had to start somewhere, right?
did everyone see that report on bullying in schools? the news showed the vid of the dad yelling at a busload of kids who were being mean to his disabled kid?
i keep wondering why the school took such a loser position? they said the dad never complained?
um... didnt the school bus driver see all of this going on? i know they vendor out the driving... but wow.
no one i grew up with would have dared do any of that stuff - if a kid picked on someone the parents show up at the bully's door...and the bully's parents took care of their kid.
guess that doesnt happen anymore?
