Looks like ya'll kept it up long after I left s'ok I'm back, and I've got a pint (ok well, 1/2 a pint now) of Smirnoff, a 6 pack, and 4 fuzzy navels.
And, my best drinking bud, my hubby!
and yes, I realize it's not hard likker, but I'm a light weight when it comes to drinkin'.

Here I was drinking my daiquiri doing my house chores and taking care of the family and you all had a shin dig without me. Dang!!! I always miss the parties. One more reason to move to the central time zone.

* stumbles out to the kitchen at the unfarmly hour of 8:30 AM, half the day is gone, falls over the blender, lands on the cat who still has a lampshade on his head, heads outside for humiliations galore from the barncats and the goats who have never seen anything so hilarious in their lives. milking goes badly. goats stomp off and demand better service.*
well friends. i do have that headache in a powerful way. and there's still a lot of peaches here. i need a lot of coffee but NONE of the 'hair of the dog that bit me'.......
dang.. these are still a LOT of peaches here. dont tell lala that most of these were FREE!!!
ok here i go to figure out a strategy... and i still need to part up the turkeys. and fast.
in the middle of all the ridiculousness last nite we had to come up with something for dinner. we ended up with enchiladas in a cheese sauce (we didnt any any real sauce and i saw something like this on the menu at the local place). they turned out really good. and the good neighbors gave us a pint of something they called "Horticulture beans" which seemed a lot to me like pinto beans. i used these for refried beans (in a hot skillet and mashed them down a bit).
they were REALLY good. but i dont have a reference for "horticulture beans." anybody??
so
i had already cooked down some of the turkey thighs in the 'pokey pot' but without any spices. i used this for the meat but it was kinda lacking. so i think i'm gonna put the rest of the thighs in the crock pot and spice 'em up mexically style so we'll be able to make those cheesy enchiladas and really quick.
and then i need a better strategy for the peaches than blender drinks!

Shoot, I missed the party.....but on the plus side, my goats didn't stomp off, grumbling! And I'm not trying to scrub Sharpie off my forehead!
I gotta get me some peaches... Need to make a cobbler and a batch of peach liqueuer for when the N'oreasters start up. A taste of summer when the woodstove is blasting and the wind is howling....

peaches.....party.....that's it, OFG, you and the Man are gonna have a new roommate. I figure it'll take me a week to pack up, ship the chickens ahead, and to hell with the garden.
off to try to beat the bear to the blackberries.
ps: my ears must be clogged with mosquitoes cuz I didn't hear nothing about no free peaches.
