Actual thermometer in dappled shade reads 101 and rising. No idea what the heat index is.

The goats are starting to feel it, but the chickens are out and about in the shade. I'm praying for some clouds to roll in.

ha! yep! its the official "dang its hot" thread!!

i was out for about 40 minutes - everyone seems to be fine. the runner ducks are having a blast and are scooting around their yard like little bugs. (i think i love them!)

the pigs were laying in their big mud pit and are happy as clams.

i keep making the goat go outside of their house and get in the breeze.

and

i'm exhausted for being out there such a short time!

I'm wiped out! I got 95 bales of hay today, early, and was soaked by the time I had it all unloaded.

Hang in there, OFG! Cooler weather's just got come around sometime. It's 96* here, muggy and miserable. I cant seem to do anything but sit in the shade and surf the web, or stand in the water sprinkler. No chores are getting done today.

Oh, I wanna join! Its HOT! I just gathered the "hard boiled eggs" Been going out there every few hours or so to get them before they cook. All the animals just stand there looking at me like..um, mom, make it go away! Poor babies.

Officially we got to 103 today. However, I have a digital thermometer on my back porch hanging in the shade of the rafters and when I checked it today it read 115 F!!

Blow that cool air and rain this way SD!!

I will believe in the Al Gore theory when he can explain how it was even HOTTER in the past and there were less people and NO emissions.

The Medieval Warm Period occurred from about AD 9501250. When the Vikings settled Greenland it was actually GREEN! According to historical records it was covered with trees and plants. The settlers there were growing barley and livestock being farmed.

We ARE having global warming, but it is solar cycles that cause it. The same solar cycles responsible for the many ice ages the Earth has seen. Al Gore should go look it up on the internet that he invented.

BTW - Just because it is a solar cycle warming us up is NO reason not to keep looking for energy sources that are renewable and long lasting. This fossil fuel is going to poison us to death.
