Yea, we are pretty anti-Michael-Vic. Hubby was a lifelong football fan who actually boycotts the whole NFL now. He will sometimes wistfully check the score but doesn't watch football anymore. We don't have any problem with him getting out of jail, he served his time, it is just him being wildly successful and a role model for children that bothers us.

This is not forgivable behavior for me, or a person who later can redeem himself (except with the Lord, I'm talking about society). I suppose if Charles Manson got out of jail we'd let him become a rock star and no one would be upset? To me it is the same issue. If you are a sociopath, you just are. Doing time doesn't get you over it. To me this shows a ruthlessness and attention on winning as opposed to good sportsmanship on the part of the NFL, who create role models for young impressionable people. Perhaps as the mother of sons and a saver of pits, this is especially "criminal" to me.

Abi - he fought pit bulls , had a huge dog fighting organization. If the dogs didn't fight / win then he and his "buddies" killed them in horrible horrible ways.

OFG - when my broody hatched out 3 chicks and 2 died I felt bad and decided to get 2 chicks. HA she totally rejected them so I ended up brooder raising them! (I know your situation is different... but I am with ya on buying replacement chicks )

Abs -you're so cute... you're like me with sports people. i never know who anyone is.

here's the good news --- we have another hatchling! he just popped out of his pod.. i mean.. egg!!! my first little guy is so excited - he's all "get up get up! lets peep around!" and the new one is all "which way is up!!!???"

so i'm totally relieved and i'll re-set up the brooder later for those 2 and hopefully there will be more soon.

Sociopath totally. Hubby read where dogs that would not fight or were poor at it were often horribly wounded by Vic and then used as "practice" for other dogs. Makes me REALLY want to buy a sandwich. Twisted Sof a witch.

I've taken care of at least four pit bulls that were in the hands of people like him, maybe more. I don't understand it, just like I don't understand people who bull fight or cock fight. It is really sick when you see that they have starved puppies under four weeks of age to make them mean (cuz it works). Luckily with love and kindness you can usually bring them back.

When Hubby and I watch anything about bullfighting on the news, we root for the bulls! You should hear the cheer that goes up in our house when a bull gores some matador in the ba........where it hurts most. Or that Running of the Bulls thing, what madness. I don't understand the fascination of watching animals hurt each other or people. Hubby always says if you are stupid enough to run in front of an enraged bull, he is going to have the right to laugh his a$$ off.

And OFG, you hit the nail on the head, Michael couldn't find anything better to do with his time? That is what he and his buddies did for FUN. Nike is sending out a canned response to everyone, same as Subway, the one from Nike is written a little better. I just used an address from the Nike website "contact me" and .....they got it. Same with Subway, I just used their official website. But each one they receive makes him less valuable for advertising. Boycotting and writing to them about it is a way to vote with your pocketbook. I don't think we should allow this man to be socially accepted as a "hero".....and unfortunately for too many young men in America, football players are heroes. There can't be tolerance of this kind of behavior.
