I am so excited about getting a fall planting this year. Though our summer doesn't usually hit until September/October.
I am hoping for a year round garden.

Can I direct seed broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage?

OFG, I Can relate to that satisfied feeling. Well, as long as were eating chicken.

Fraid so

I am trying to get in some fall crops. I planted some beans already, but I also need to plant kale and Swiss chard.

with the heat index of 90*.... it sure doesnt FEEL like fall planting! man! but i'm moving right along out there. today's chick is still a no show. i think there are at least 3 little bodies in the bator - just got to get them hatched.

WZ - btw...... i think the exchange is 3 quail for every laying hen, ducks are one for one unless its a 'scovy then its two regular ducks for one meatie. i've been following the poultry exchange ticker all morning.

* OFG, on the couch with a mountain of s'ghetti with fresh from the garden sauce and a half a gallon.. i mean.. a half a glass of wine, yells "ticker update!" *

Dog#2 hops up, runs to the laptop, furiously taps on the keyboard, scribbles something on a piece of paper, barks "Princess!"

Kai takes the piece of paper and walks in front of OFG repeatedly....

today its more work work work. and so much for my big sleep in. Kai woofed until i got up to let her outside. she and Titan have been out there chasing each other and rolling around in the grass since about 6:30. i tried to lay back down but then Little Mo came and poke-poke-poked me until i just got up. now HE'S sleeping. cats!

we might do our honey harvest today! i'm pretty excited. i think we have 3 supers that are full, full, full! now just need to make sure that we have the buckets for them.

but first, more planting and we need to finish up the stupid branches for the Old Man neighbor. we need to chain saw some of them down - i got the smallest ones and now we need some chainsawin'. i'm sure the Old Man Neighbor will be very happy. until we start working on my dog moat. ha!

so its off to the trenches again.

or if its gonna rain and we might actually, brace yourself.... go to the movies. i know. shocking. we might see Cowboys and Aliens- it has all my favorite things: guns, aliens, and harrison ford. whoot!
