i cant believe it! on two counts!

1. chick #17 is on the way - we heard peeping in the incubator! he'll come flying out in no time i'm sure. um... wow..thats a lot of chicks.

2. it was 52* this morning......what a relief!

so i'm running right outside. i'm so excited - sunshine and LOW humidity! got tons of planting to do/done as listed here ....and there's another "self portrait" ha!

and here's something.. wow! i went with a friend to sell some of her old gold jewelry..... she got almost $500 but her old high school class ring and some necklaces! the ring was only 10k!!! so i'm gonna look thru some of my old stuff wowza. and then i'm gonna promptly re-invest in chickens.

Probably this is the first time in the history of high school class rings when the purchase price is able to be reclaimed later!

So some of those eggs must be over 5 weeks in the incubator by now. Amazing!

I'm wrestling with the idea of filling the incubator right now.....do I really want to feed chicks all winter? On the other hand, the pullets would be ready to lay in the spring. What to do, what to do.....

I put eggs under another broody yesterday. SO doesn't know yet
I just love those little fluffballs. We can always butcher them later and have 'em for dinner. We have 3 momma's in the garlic patch right now raising 8 chicks, 3 of them meaties, one storebought egglayer (delaware) and 4 our own farm yard mix.
