Perplexing Question for Chicken Owners (Need an Opinion)

I'm picturing a chicken commune a la Chicken Run! That would be pretty cool. I hear my rooster at 3 am, 3pm, noon, 6pm, 5:17 am. He has a lot to say I guess.......

Depending on the distance from your coop and run area, its more possible that you have a hen or two that go for daily jaunts on their own.

I have RIRs that no fence short of a ten foot brick wall can keep contained ;)

It is possible, but NOT probable. Sorry Buffy :hu
What makes you think it couldnt be?

(not trying to be a butt, I sincerely want to know the flaws you see with it)

:) :)
Anything domesticated is easy prey in the wild.

We are talking a BIG distance. I will pull google maps and get the distance

I let 4 chickens out of my hen house a couple of years back because they were bullies with bad habits and I didn't have the heart to kill them at the time...those crazy hens stuck around for months with absolutely no help from me, food or shelter....and they were the healthiest looking hens I ever had after getting them off the pellets
So yes it is very possible...

Buffy, it's just not probable that they survived this last winter. They are domesticated animals, not wild birds hun. I don't want to burst your bubble by any means, but I also don't want you to get your hopes up TOO high ;) :hugs I really rather hope you are correct, it'd be great. Just being cautious I guess.
