Well, that all sounds strange and sinister, but United Way actually has an excellent score: http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.summary&orgid=4629

Maybe strong-arming CEOs of corps to automatically deduct from paychecks to donate to United Way really cuts down on their fundraising and administrative costs and leaves more for the programs? :rolleyes:

Every large company I've ever worked for had a big United Way campaign. Since it came out of your check they always lead you to believe that if you don't contribute to help meet goal that you are not a team player. My current company sends out info on the campaign through newsletters and e-mails but they don't have special meetings like other places I've worked.
