Maybe strong-arming CEOs of corps to automatically deduct from paychecks to donate to United Way really cuts down on their fundraising and administrative costs and leaves more for the programs?

Every large company I've ever worked for had a big United Way campaign. Since it came out of your check they always lead you to believe that if you don't contribute to help meet goal that you are not a team player. My current company sends out info on the campaign through newsletters and e-mails but they don't have special meetings like other places I've worked.
