[Living the Simple Life]

A couple of years ago I got the brilliant idea of making everyone a lap quilt for christmas. Since I had a toddler and a newborn at the time, I think it was residual pregnancy-induced insanity....my hubby and I had a great time doing it however. I used a strip quilting method and I would sew the strips, slide them across the table, he would cut and send them back. It was really efficient and we had some great quality time together doing it. DH's grandmother has since passed and her quilt went to my daughter (her great-granddaughter). My brother was killed two years ago and his quilt went to my son. I never dreamed they would become "family heirlooms".
