daddy suprised me tonight with a "just because' gift, i get to go pick it up from walmart tomorrow...
a new DVD player. mine died before the move so i left it behind...
well now ill have a new one, its a pretty good one too aparently, not the best or anything, but its procressive scan and should let me acess the menu features which the last one wouldnt do.
i needed to go to lowes anyway so hey why not.

i told him it can be a "you still have all your fingers" gift.
he said i did a pretty good job on my hutch too...which from him is a compliment lol.

yeah i got lucky wiht my family...
we butt heads sometimes, and me and my dad are very alike so sometimes things can get REALY heated, but even our worst fights never last more than a few hours.
its nice to have a family you feel close to, even if they are a little over protective sometimes.
now im out on my own, our relationship is even better

had a productive morning this morning, the dogs let me sleep untill 8:30, then i got up and got them all fed and fettled before having my breakfast outside, its damp but the temperature is lovely, i even turned my heater off yesterday and didnt need it this morning...so its still off...
after breakfast i took my tree down too...and its not even 9:30 yet! woot!

the person intereted in little man backed out, said her hubby said no...
pray tell why email me in the first place if your hubby wasnt onborad for getting a puppy!? gah!
i told her if he changes his mind let me know and ill keep her updated on if he finds a home before then...
shame because for all accounts and purposes they sounded like the perfect family for him.
oh well, someone will come along for him

today it going to be a bit of a crazy day.
need to go back into jackson, pick up my new dvd player, return the paint and get some new and pick up more linolium for the bottom of hutch 2 (because i was silly and counted wrong lol) oh and get some wire snips since its the one thing my little pink toolkit doesnt have.
plus i need more screws and some short roofing nails.

hoping i can get hutch 1's front done today at the very minimum...weather permitting all also get hutch 2 built and the shingles on them both (the plywood isnt rated for unprotected situations)

id like to get them painted too but that will 100% depend on the weather.

so yeah...time to finnish checking my mail and then get my tushy moving!

no, no pink wire snips, so i got black ones intead lol.

got everyting i needed to done, picked up my new dvd player...returned the paint...picked up new paint...and its PINK....well more of a hot magental/reddish pink, itll look red in some lights and more pink in others but its pink...(and was either this one, a brownish baby poop green, or bright orange...)

headed home, finnished the front for hutch #1, put some of the broken shingles on the roof of that one to make sure it stays dry tonight...itll get ripped off once hutch 2 is finnished so i can redo it with the better salvaged shingles as 1 whole thing so theres no gaps between the 2 units...
i also got the floor done, up on legs and the back on for hutch #2.

tomorrow the hope is to finnish hutch 2 and the duck coop under the 2 and get the roof shingles on both.
paint will hopefully get done next week , just need the weather to co-operate on that side of things lol.

i wanted to do more on hutch 2 but realized it had gotten dark enough that i couldnt see where i was drilling holes so figured i should probably call it a night.

then for dinner...omg yummy.
i took the left over lime chicken, and the leftover rice and mixed it all together with 3/4 a can of enchilada sauce.
put the mix into my 2 little cassrole dishes, with 1/2 a burito sized soft tortilla ontop, the rest of the enchilada sauce, and some cheese, and bakced it like you would a normal enchilada...OMG delicious!
Ive got the second one for dinner tomorrow, though ill be honest, i kinda want it now LOL! YUMMY lol.

so today was another fun filled day of building...and another day of "wait why is it getting dark?"
but i managed to get hutch #2 done, the roof on both hutches, and managed to get a good start on the duck house.
heres what i did today (and i swear its level, my cameral however lol...

the enclosed part underneath hutch 1 has a none oening window...(i knwo it just looks like a hole right now, but there is a window in it...i used one of the storm window pannels from an old window and it worked perfectly, i was worried the house itself would be too dark, so problem solved.
the short side has a hinged locking door for egg collection, its big enough that i can climb in underthere if i need to. and the front is just attatched by a couple of screws so when i need to get in there to rake/clean it out, i just unscrew and the enitre front comes off
i was initially going to put hinges on the front so it would open up like anyother door, but i realized even if i did 2 peices it woudl be relitivly heavy and i didnt want to invest in heavy duty hinges.

the other end will be wire, and the front will be a wire gate like the wire side of the hutches so i can just open it up to let the ducks free range. have to do that this week...it once again got too dark lol.
i have to put a ledger board along the entire bottom (you can see it in the pics, i got it cut out but didnt attatch it yet, thats because the ground is soooo uneven (no amount of digging would fix it so i decided to leavel it out with blocks then block the gaps rather than start trying to dig out to even it up.

i managed to break a brill bit, and destroyed 2 screwdriver bits...what can i expect from the little toolkit, the interchangable screwdriver bits arnt meant for that kind of work...lol.

i think it looks good.

im planning on painting the whole thing in the found magenta, the 1x2's making the door and side will be white, and im planning on using some salvaged wood to make trim for the front which will also be white just to finnish it off.
Inside will also be white.

im realy proud of myself...
to the point that i rewarded myself with pizza LOL.

tomorrow is a crazy day...puppies need vac's and chip, dozer needs his final vac's. ruby, and the puppies need trims and baths, everyone needs nails doing too.

the place is a mess, i still have more work to do on the hutches (finnish up the duck run and trim it all out).
i realized i have nothing drinkage wise in the fridge for tomorrow...
and lord m tried and achey lol.

Cindi, was wondering if your still planning on comming over, if not thats 100% ok lol, just means i dont have to try and clean in the morning rush.
though if you do want to come over thats fine just let me know what time to expect you

in other news...pizza was delicious and i think ill be having fro-yo for desert...
and an early night with my good buddy ben-gay watching my back lol.
